Will we be expected to know how to build any design from scratch or will a company teach us the things we don't know

You supposed to know how to build it that’s why u are getting paid for. This is not a learn on the job thing. If I give you a design you should be able to build it that’s what I’m paying you for.

Very few companies will teach you basics...you will be asked to learn tools that they use. Most will expect you to learn on your own time as in they will not give you downtime (paid time ONLY to learn) you may be allowed to research quickly but expect to catch up after work or a company will quickly replace you.

Yeah absolutely not. I recommend you watch some videos on ui design, even developers that are not creative whatsoever can create beautiful websites with a few rules and frameworks.
