We have a fair pricing policy. The price for each month of renewal is always the same.

I mean do your websites loose google ranking when you shift from one hosting provider to another

If the transfer is done correctly (no 404s, no broken links, no downtime) and your new provider offers at least similar peformance, then no. Web hosting doesnt have SEO power directly. Its indirect benefits are website speed (which is useful for SEO). most transfers that are done that harm SEO are just done in a terrible way with tons of downtime or broken links/design afterwards

if sb so stupid to fall for this, you think they can change hosting providers?

How hard is it to migrate a website to a different provider to keep having the introductory price? We screwed Norton this way. First year cheap, then 500% ramp up. The only way to get the intro price again was to buy it, uninstall, with all dependencies (new Linuxer here LOL), and install afresh. Year after year we had a new license at a fraction of the market place. Well, I have no more, either running Linux or Windoze on a usb stick with its own defender. Sufficient in this day and age. When stuff is difficult to compare, like energy charges, one company having unit price low, other standing charge low, I made myself a spreadsheet with formulas, put the variables in there and got a final comparable price for a yearly usage among providers. One has to use some brain these days.

It's actually extremely easy. If you have a hardcoded website, just copy paste the files on the new server and change IP address in your DNS. If you have something like WordPress, it's just 1 click "export", go to new sever and click "import". That's it.

@@Emit.Reviews how about the domain name? Some seem to tie the domain name to their service, in the url address. Having your own independently comes more expensive. Or am I confusing it?
@Emit.Reviews2 ай бұрын
Actually domain names are like your property. It's not a service. So, web hosting providers can't even refund you for 1 if you cancel, because it belongs to you after purchase, they can't do anything about it. Most domain names are created by government entities and just "issued" by web hosting providers as a middle man. Sometimes however, they give out free "subdomains" like emitreviews.freewebhostmost.com in that case the "real" name is freewebhostmost.com and I wouldn't have any control over it (I assume this is what you mean by the tie in the URL address.). But it's not common practice to do this with paid providers, only "trial" services usually engage in this. But the way web hosting works is 1. You have a server with some files on it. That server has an IP address. 2. You have a domain name that points to that IP address. So, when users type in the domain name in their browser, they are shown files from that specific server. If the server ever changes, all you need to do is copy/paste a new IP address in your domain controls and you're good to go - meaning the domain name can point to any server from any provider at any point. It's flexible and can be changed at will.

Nice as usual Can you make a complete video on how to use heztner and scalahosting to create reseller hosting?? Thanks.

So... paying for a dedicated server and spending hours to launch a website is better?
@Emit.Reviews2 ай бұрын
Buying a VPS for $2 and spending 15minutes configuring it is the best imo

never renew unless it's a domain
@markusTegelane2 ай бұрын
Depends on the type of TLD and registrar, but renewal prices tend to also be higher for domains compared to registration.

I'd use a website builder like Wix. They just put their prices up to £13.50 a month (which is shite cause it's expensive haha) but I pay £15 per year for my domain.
@leviorenbuch18802 ай бұрын
Why not just host the wensite on your own hardware? I got a free computer that has better specs than shown in the plan at 8:52. That way, all you have to do is pay for the domain.
@Emit.Reviews2 ай бұрын
True, not everyone has a spare computer or the will power to keep it on 24/7 and deal with the technical stuff especially if your ISP keeps randomly changing your Ip address

@@Emit.Reviews Fair point. My IP address was actually changed at the begining of this summer, and it took a while for me to realize - meanwhile my minecraft server was not working...

I feel like with other industries you kinda at least have a little bit of choice. Not EVERY company engages in the exact same tactics. For web hosting however, it seems like it's just the norm and every new web hosting that pops up just takes these practices as a normal thing to do.
