Man I remember playing this game nonstop. I loved everything. The combat, the story, and the black suit powers. All of it felt so similar to prototype(Well minus the intense brutality). This game is a gem and I’m so glad that Spiderman 2 PS5 will be doing the same thing with the suit.

Way too much of the gameplay is simplified and automated. Even the games with deeper gameplay are pale imitations of their former selves. Looking at you God of War.

Issue with Insomniacs swinging is that it feels way too floaty. Because you literally are. Web goes tight immediately and you start hovering. Hell, if you swing low enough you see Peter or Miles Bob up and down. You can actually see it if you press R2 slowly. Also just plain super shallow. OBJECTIVELY some of the shallowest the IP has ever had. You can climb the webs, wrap around poles with them, sling shot your self, do full 360s, your feet actually touch the ground or you run along buildings if you are too close to them, just plain do significantly more. Also, you can actually mess up plus fall damage. Makes those tricks way more impressive because we all know it takes skill to pull them off.

Web of shadows was basically like the RDR2 of Spider-Man games. Not only was the gameplay fun but you even got to make good or bad choices and if you mix it up it gives you 4 different endings. The only thing i didn't like was the combat was kind of limited in terms of combos. Other than that I love web of shadows, even the ps2 version wasn't that bad.

@@breezy3176 Sony only has the movie rights to Spiderman, that's it. Remember a couple years ago when Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 came out? That has Spiderman in it, and it's Switch exclusive. Spiderman is also in Midnight Suns, and he's not exclusive to the PS version. Activision's old games were delisted because their contract expired, and for whatever reason the contract wasn't renewed. That's why I'm hoping that MS can work something out with Disney.

It is possible because Sony doesn't own the videogame ip but its still unlikely. Microsoft/Activision could potentially buy the license again and remaster the game or make a sequel but I doubt Disney will let them because they would want to keep their relationship with Sony good. Look at Marvel's Avengers for example, Spider-Man was only allowed on Playstation. Sony may not own the videogame IP but they have alot of say, Spider-Man is currently Disney's biggest moneymaker in the MCU so they are going to keep Sony happy.

@@IamaPERSON Yeah, i mean, kinda, i personally love this game but i do recognise that the Venom zombies is a very out of the box thought, since he's depicted as being very choosing of his host where he needs someone he's compatible with, that's why he wants Peter so much, i mean, it isn't unlike superhero stories to sometimes do shit like that (marvel zombies comes to mind) but it catches you so off guard. If you are a spiderman fanboy who just likes spidey cuz idk he's cool, going the evil route will be very weird and out of character since peter is the bestest good boy of marvel, but if you know some of the comics it might not be that out of character to see Peter go all bad boy, also don't mention Sam Raimi's spider-man 3... shit i already did it. I do like the endings tho, the story is pretty cool as far as it goes.

This game was lightning in a bottle. Is it perfect? God no. Spideys voice actor has been criticized to hell and back. The story has been done before... Many times...
