Web Summit 2022: Q&A with Charles Hoskinson

At the beginning of November, IOG CEO Charles Hoskinson visited Lisbon to join a number of discussions on the state of the blockchain world. In between the sessions Charles connected with some of the community members, answering questions about Twitter, Cardano’s focus for the next year, digital identity and the problems blockchains are solving.

He already did answer these same questions many times, in his AMAs and other interviews. He has a brilliant scientific mind and he really knows a lot of things about a lot of different fields. @@consciouscool Charles was booted out of Ethereum before any coding was done. Also, he didn't contribute anything to the Ethereum whitepaper. That was all Vitalik's work. He didn't cofound anything. He hasn't been responsible for an original idea in crypto at all going back as far as Protoshares in 2013, another project he was booted out of. In fact, IOHK wasn't even his idea. He was ready to move on to teaching math and exiting crypto all together when another of the Ethereum founders contacted him with the idea to start IOHK. All Charles does is marketing. He has no skill set beyond that.

Kind of a big stretch calling him an Ethereum founder. All he did was read Vitalik's whitepaper and joined. He did zero coding before he was unanimously booted out by all the other founders who wanted to keep Ethereum non-profit. Greedy Charles disagreed and was booted. He holds a grudge to this day. At least he became a billionaire off the Cardano sales pitch.

None of it turned out to be true. He dropped out of an undergrad program and was never enrolled in a PhD. program as confirmed by the U. of Colorado. Sounds like a really great guy, really.

I like it the audience is smart to ask questions about alternative Internet protocols. I hadn't heard about RINA until this video, but after CH talked about it I'd like it if Cardano/ADA was successful enough to run the blockchain on dedicated hardware using RINA.

Why doesn't someone ask IOHK who hired them to build Cardano since those particular people are the largest holders of ADA and benefit the most from staking and the slow and steady pace Charles is marketing? @@Amack15 Sorry to disappoint you, but IOHK was contracted out to build Cardano by individuals in Japan. To this day Charles refuses to disclose who they are. How do I know? I've asked him twice in his AMAs to tell ADA holders to which he responded, "absolutely not". As for IOHK, please take your own advice and read about the history. IOHK was another one of the Ethereum founder's ideas. He approached Charles and asked if he'd like to start the company with him. Charles said he agreed because after being ousted from Ethereum, he was ready to back to teaching math. Sound unbelievable? It's all true if you look.

Ardana (Cardano's stablecoin development partner), just quit Cardano. Their reason, Cardano, the platform itself is too difficult to work with. That's the reason they stated on their Twitter. It is known Cardano smart contracts are not at the level they should be. Charle's response: "Cardano is built right. Cardano is like broccoli, not everyone likes it but it's good for you." This guy is a true narcist. Everything that happens to him and Cardano is everyone else's fault. Zero enterprise interest in Cardano for good reason. Have a look at his famous 2017 presentation that got everyone hooked on this salesman. Almost none of it has happened. Here he is at this summit just building on the swindle.

They shut down because they haven't got the money to continue development. You're picking one sentence 'Developing on Cardano has been difficult' and acting like that's the reason they halted development, because it's too difficult. 8 years and Hoskinson's smart contracts are barely usable after countless scientific papers and peer reviewed coding. This guy is the most overhyped nothing in crypto. Ardana pulled the plug yesterday with their Cardano stablecoin project. ADA holders chose to believe it was a rug pull but the project was funded with Cardano money, just like all Cardano dapps. The reason they did it is because working with Cardano is exceedingly difficult to work with and Charles Hoskinson is no help. Cardano smart contracts are feeble and barely useable. This has been known for a while. Eventually it ends badly. Now Charles is talking about focusing on his new privacy coin. Maybe he should focus on fixing his smart contracts.

I went through this same exercise with Tron holders claiming how much they were using Tron's dapps. Turns out nobody was using any of them for anything.

Why are these guys doing a summit? They haven't accomplished anything. They're out of ways to keep ADA holders interested during the bear market especially since it's clear there is zero adoption of Cardano by the business world. Thriving ecosystem consists of lousy dapps paid for with Cardano funding that nobody is using.
