serious question , does anyone have any information on how to remove rust from a weber , then what is the best way to go about spot painting that chipped rusted area on the weber , a lot of the older kettles that one comes across have rust spots on them , im not looking at making the enamel look new again , i just want to make sure that the rust does not get worse or starts working under the enamel , thank yuo for your time .

This seems like a cool event. I'd like to go one day if it ever moved to somewhere bigger and less private. I honestly don't have a Weber grill. Is it worth it to restore one of the older ones if I happened upon one?
@danfintak1666 жыл бұрын
I'm working on one right now. It came to me in terrible condition, but it was free. It's fun, and then you'll have a nice old school kettle to grill delicious food on. Does that sound worth it to you?

I the video when they are showing the one corner reserved for the guy with the most pristine collection, he has a 26 in something that has never been produced. I need to know exactly what it said he sound like a Baloo? Blue? I have one but is in very poor shape and missing the legs. I had no idea that it was a Weber and just use the for a fire pit with some sort of makeshift bottom I can send pictures if needed!!! I need to research this cuz I don't want to now restore it

the never-produced grill was a Blue 26". That size grill was never sold in that color.

Do not understand why Weber did not put the black rubber protector on the top vent control like they do on the Master Touch and why the temp gauge is opposite the top vent,where as you get a false temp reading while using the kettle as a smoker. Do you know?
@Weberkettleclub7 жыл бұрын
Good questions Steven. I'm not sure about the changes to the vent and temp placements - I can only assume it was done purely for packing/manufacturing. I don't have ANY of the new grills (yet) for exactly those reasons.
@PartyUpLive7 жыл бұрын
I agree it seems pretty dumb not to add the rubber protector on all the vents for the new Weber. I found some online and now have them on all of my Weber grills, the Smokey Joe, the Jumbo Joe, and the Performer. I heard the temp gauge is opposite the vents now because they figured, if you smoke on the kettle, you would bank the coals to each side of the grill and place meat in the middle. I thought about adding a second temp gauge to have one in both places.

@glfjunke2587 жыл бұрын
It's a shame that they are not savey enough to figure out that if they came out with an aftermarket finger protector for the Premiun,which has got to be the most popular model sold,they could make a fortune. I'm sure it could retail for under $20. Anyway thanks for your prompt reply and "Grill On"👍

Did the cops stay and eat also? I would start a big wood fire about sundown to get my coals for dutch oven cooking and grill smoking...ohhhmy here comes the fire for. Had sausage so I fed them. Enjoyed have fun. Mark/Waco

I was hoping to see one like my parents received in 1949. Spun metal much heavier than today and legs were heavy metal welded to the kettle. Stood in rain and snow for more than 20 years not covered. Todays are junk by comparison.
@Weberkettleclub4 ай бұрын
Your parents' grill sounds interesting! Weber wasn't established until 1952ish and the legs weren't ever welded to the kettle - unless your parents had an earlier weber bros prototype or something
