That was a great talk. And I can see why you love ❤️ it so much. Those flowers are so 😎 cool with the curls at the base of the flower. They look like little dragon fruit flowers when they bloom. Thanks again from San Diego, CA.

Loved this video. Where does one even find one of there? Seems so hard to find in the US.

I love those curiosities! I first saw this at Heldelberg Botanic Gardens in the 1980s, but yours is the first plant I've seen in flower. It clearly likes you!!!

I would have loved to see it in a botanical garden even without flowers! I’m glad Weberocereus like me back 🤣!

I did not think I could like this genus more, but you proved me wrong! I need to source this species. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! I am going to jump into that paper tonight!

Tortugero is a National Park and quite charming if you get the chance. Canal, hotels, and jungle on one side, beach on other. Sea turtles lay eggs in season. Access is by road and then water taxis that go up the canal. Reached by 2 day tours from San Jose. Nice presentation.I live in seasonal dry forest and haven't seen this species and these lowland species are difficult to grow here. A special cabinet would be needed while other species like S. glaber and S. tonduzii just grow out in the yard.

I would forgo the tour part and just run around trying to find epicacti to ogle and photograph 🤣!

@@EpiphyticCacti I believe they rent canoes! The closest thing I saw to a cactus was a crocodile, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

It would be my luck that I would just get eaten while trying to find them 🤣!

Where can we purchase? There’s nothing online

I’ve never seen it for sale outside of once a few years ago and it wasn’t in the US. I think this plant is purchasable in some European countries. If you are in the US, you can try an ISO facebook post in epiphytic cacti related groups. This is your best option for finding cuttings of it as it’s mostly just in a few private collections. I didn’t get my 2nd cutting from a sale it was through a roundabout trade from a private collector. Uncommon or rarer plants in cultivation are usually obtained that way.
