02:01 Webinar starts.
Watch this webinar recording with Joel Mayer from Wednesday, February 28. In this webinar, Joel will talk about why and how to integrate an approach rooted in traditional animation to Moho. He will present his own history with Moho and animation, workflows common in the industry, why simple rigs are better and how Moho 14’s improved drawing tools changed the game for high quality cartoons made with the software. He will also talk about the advantages and disadvantages of both techniques and how to make the best of both worlds by combining them. Following his demonstration, there will be a Q&A session.
About the presenter
Joel Mayer is an animator and communication designer born and living in Basel, Switzerland. He is Creative Director and responsible for animated content in the communications department of Migros Industrie, a subsidiary of Migros - Switzerland’s largest retail company and private employer. He also does freelance work for independent animation projects and develops his own intellectual properties.

I stand behind your every word with my 30 years of experience as a classic and mono animator. My technique, which I have refined over time for cut-out animation productions, is identical and gives the best results in terms of quality-effort

I become your fannnn I feel very compatible with your thinking. I always plan my movements to execute them with the help of rigging but I never rig them perfectly, sometimes I rig in a mess of bone but they fit my needs for planned movements :")))

I love this! I’m definitely guilty of overcomplicating my rigs and thinking Victor is looking over my shoulder as I try to make that rig do EVERYTHING. Lol I’ve been doing more sketches for timing/poses, but never thought of using “step” mode to help block everything on timeline out. Thanks for the tips!

Okay, definitely a good one. I was already wondering how I would animate a sequence for my promo. But this just demystified some of my concerns

Dear Joel, I have several graphics that I want to animate in moho but they are made in illustrator, when I import them into moho I have several problems, what I am trying to do now is export them as a Photoshop PSD and then transferring them to moho is better for me. But my question is. Is it better to design the characters or redraw them in moho for better control and animation?
