Ive been thinking a lot about DNA and how miraculous it is. They say text and language is signs of civilization. But DNA, a literal text, a literal language, a mean of primary communications within our body is a sign of random junk piling up and reacting with one another randomly. Even though we all have realized that learning how to read dna is harder than how to read all the text in the world combined. Somehow we've failed to realize this miracle in front of our eyes. These text (ie DNA) are constantly read, editted and even corrected all the time. By our own body, without our consent or understanding at all. This text dictates how long our nose is going to be and every little things in our body in a somewhat precise manner. Therefore i find it hard to bring myself to believe this DNA came from random junk. And i see people who believe otherwise as being irrational.

Jazakallah for hosting this seminar I have a few questions that make me disagree with your viewpoint. 1) If your rejecting Evolution, then what is your alternative? If we dissagre with something then surely we should have another alternative, where did living things come from? 2) You say that we have to reject evolution because is is contrary to the verses about prophet Adam. But why do we have to take these verses as litteral, is there no room for metaphors in the Qur'an. If not then we have to belive 'the earth was made in 6 days' or that 'Allah litteraly has hands'? 2) One reason you gave to reject evolution is because it is subject to change and it is not set in stone, but all of science is subject to change and is not absolute. No one in science is claiming evolution to be absolute truth. By this same logic we can reject the theory of gravity because its subject to change. 3) If humans are not a product of evolution then why do we have so many evidences of evolution in our body: sharing 99%DNA with other apes, why do we have toenails, why do we have a small remains of a tail bone in our pelvis etc... did Allah put all these things in us by coincidence? 4) If I want to be a scientist and I study living things and I perform research and collect all the evidence and come to the same conclusion that all of the rest of the worlds scientists have that evolution is true, what should I do as a Muslim? Should I ignore all this evidence change my job? Jazakallah khair

@@phoenixplayz1581 Actually, the 99% is accurate. The video was misleading. How are you comparing the genetics? Are you counting how many genes each one has? Are you counting how many base-pairs they have? Are you counting chromosomes? Are you counting non-coding dna? Are you counting endogenous-retroviruses? Are you counting genes in common, and do the positions OF the genes within the chromosomes have to match? On average, there's about 35 million base-pairs difference between humans and a gorilla. That seems like a lot. But you can make 7 BILLION unique changes to a human's DNA and they are still human.

As far as the scientific theory of evolution is concerned, the only way to get an accurate picture, is through the work of many scientists, peer reviewed and scrutinised and tested against multiple lines of evidence of inquiry. One scientist or a few scientists are never accepted in science as conclusive evidence. This is mistake Suboor Ahmed constantly makes. Interestingly the Muslim apologist Hamza Tzortzis has this to say on his video " Understanding Qur'an and Science" ( 3 years ago). And I quote " The Darwinian mechanism is one of the most well confirmed theories in Science". End of quote. From listening to Suboor you would not get this impression. He also says of The Big Bang theory and I quote what he says " Big Bang is less confirmed in science". I believe we should take into account the current consensus of expert scientific opinion in the theory of evolution.

When it comes to scientific questions, I ask my self what is the current best available evidence in the particular field. What is the current view of peer reviewed scientists in this field. Now I will refer you to a statement made by Suboor Ahmed 3 years ago .He was haveing a discussion if believe in evolution undermined God. This is the statement Suboor Ahmed towards the end of the discussion and I will now quote it "What does science actually say about human/chimp ancestry? Regardless of what you hear, you know on u tube videos refuting evolution, this scientist agrees, this scientist disagrees, there's a complete concensus among evolutionary biologists on Human/chimp ancestry is true" End of quote. Let me add I have no scientific qualification whatsoever. That is why I am guided by the current best available evidence.

I am not a scientist and certainly do not know a great deal about evolution. There is a question I would like to ask. How come Muslims who set themselves up as experts on evolution usually have no actual science degrees? The Muslims who have actual science degrees tend to be more evolution friendly. If I want to find out about a complex like evolution, I would like to get my information from a Muslim who has a ph.d in biology for example. Failing that, I would be willing to listen to one who has a ph.d in genetics or biochemistry. I do get the impression that the ordinary lay Muslim accepts uncritically what Muslim apologists, who have no expertise in the field of evolution, say about the theory of evolution. Why for example does Suboor Ahmed use the expression " Darwinian delusions?

The word "Yawm/يوم" (plural is Ayam/أيام) in Arabic can mean different periods of time not just 24 hours, therefore according the Qur'an God have created the universe in 6 Ayam which could mean 6 twenty four hour days or 6 weeks or 6 years or 100 thousand years or 13.8 billion years.
