Webinar recording of "Integrating MHPSS and Peacebuilding Mapping and Recommendations for Practitioners: Key Messages from Iraq" held on 3rd July 2024.
The webinar explores MHPSS and peacebuilding practices in Iraq through the presentation of the IASC's new report (and accompanying policy brief) that aims to help stakeholders, primarily policymakers, donors and other decision-makers, to integrate MHPSS and peacebuilding, building on the latest developments in the field. It looks into the complex return and reintegration landscape, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees and ex-associates of non-state armed groups, in Iraq and discusses the importance of MHPSS in the context of community stabilization, livelihood programming, social cohesion efforts by paying attention to specifically vulnerable groups such as GBV survivors and children with disabilities among others.
Through experiences shared by representatives of government representatives, local civil society organizations, religious leaders and others, the webinar will discuss the inextricable links between the two sectors, also highlighting specific examples of current integration efforts and best practices in the context of Iraq.
Hosted by IOM, with support of CRS, this webinar is part of an ongoing series by the IASC, MHPSS and Peacebuilding Working Group of the IASC, MHPSS Reference Group to share best practices and approaches to linking the two fields.
