Attention, emotion regulation and thinking skills (sometimes called executive functions) are important for mental and physical health and also help with academic success, friendships and general quality of life. In this webinar, we will explain what research tells us about the executive function strengths and difficulties associated with autism and ADHD, and why toddlers with a family connection to autism or ADHD may benefit from support in the early development of executive functions.
Next, we will share how the START programme has been developed in consultation with members of the autism and ADHD communities to provide support for toddlers with a family connection to autism or ADHD - and how to get involved in a trial of this neurodiversity-affirming parent-toddler programme.
This webinar will be led by Dr Alexandra Hendry, NIHR and Castang Foundation Advanced Fellow at the University of Oxford.
