Split screen works on both positions of iPad, landscape and vertical.

That may be true for some Apps. Thanks for the clarification. Correction: The IFD100 App only supports Split Screen mode in Landscape.

Really helpful and informative video, thank you. I have a question - when I am in split screen mode (landscape) my IFD100app loses the data tab on the right handside when in map mode, is there any way to get that tab back. Thanks

You don't need the Data tab on IFD100 because the Datablocks are always in view down the left side even in SplitScreen mode.

Question - so the Jeppesen subscription that I already have for the 550 would work with IFD 100 app? I don't need to get an "extension" subscription?

you can only view the Jepp charts (assuming you have a panel only Jepp subscription) with the IFD 100 app either connected to the panel mounted IFD in the aircraft or with the IFD trainer app on a separate ipad with both ipads connected to the same wifi network. For the latter option the ipad trainer app effectively acts like a panel mounted IFD. Its a really cool feature and works well.

Yes, Your Jepp NavData and Obstacle data subscriptions are for all Avidyne devices in the airplane (based on tail#) including your IFD(s) and any iPads you want to connect. If you purchased the Charts option for your IFD550, then you can also load Charts on your IFD100 App. (Charts are only visible on the IFD100 App when connected via Wifi to the IFD550). Your subscription also works for the IFD Trainer App as "@ExtremeDel1972" mentioned above.
