So in a horizontal container you only harvest half of the bin? And does vegetable matter need to be cut to a small size? Like banana peels, celery stalk bases, etc.?

That depends on how you feed your bin. Do you feed it by horizontal layers or make vertical ones? I personally don’t do either I feed by digging a hole and filling back up with the vermicompost and harvest whenever I need or if the bin is getting to filled

Ok one pound of wrigglers isn’t about 500 maybe anc are. Also he made a claim I read all over but I haven’t seen any proof of it and that’s wrigglers aren’t good outside in Florida. Mine are fine outside and others I know also are fine. I’m.baffled why this claim is always said yet I never ever seen this as true personal experience. It’s almost like saying distilled water leaches minerals out of the body. Well no leaching here and I drink a gallon a day yet it’s said all over the net don’t drink it makes your bones lack minerals. Lol
