Hi Dan, cracking review as always, just a pity you had uncontrollable wind😂. Look like a cracking affordable entrance in to the world of PCP shooting. You could do with an in door range. You can always come up north to Atherton indoor Range, to do your testing. Also there is a good chippy 50 yards away. All the best, looking forward to your next review.

They're a nice rifle the Airborne and the "ATA" checkering is stunning. That said the Eagle is actually its own rifle although you can definitely see some similar lines to both. The block for instance is completely different on the Eagle along with the trigger mechanism, stock, barrel length and the Eagle is quite a bit lighter in the shoulder.
@alanmorris87833 ай бұрын
This isn’t based on the Airborne, it is actually the ATA Airborne Gen 2 (this is on the ATA site). It fixes many of the shortcomings of the gen 1 like trigger, weight and side lever. My guess is the lack of traction of the ATA brand for air rifles, whereas Webley causes Dan to soil his tightly whiteys.

@@alanmorris8783 ye gen 2 but still the ata airborne lol
@bigdansairguns833 ай бұрын
@@alanmorris8783 Hahaha it's a nice gun to be fair but again it isn't a 1:1 to the Gen 2 Airborne. As mentioned the stock is different, the block is different and if you look at the rear of the block the ATA doesn't have the housing for the short stroke system. Put pics of both side to side and you'll see the differences.

Hey Baz! Despite the looks the Eagle is an almost completely different rifle compared to the Airborne. It's lighter, has a shorter barrel, a totally different stock, a totally different block/action and a different trigger mechanism. The only similarity is that it shares the same mag. In general it's a more refined rifle to the Airborne, if you put pictures of the rifles side by side you can see there's quite a few differences.

Great review Dan. I really like the look of that gun,can't be doing with all the tactical stuff coming out,air rifles should be made with wood. Just one small ask,as England started using the metric system of measurement in 1971, would it not be better to use this system in your reviews? I'm a lot older than you but, having spent most of my adult life using this system and having to convert inches to millimeters can be a bit of a chore.

To get rid of hammer bounce have to have slingshot hammer or no pre Lord behind hammer
@bigdansairguns833 ай бұрын
You don't need a slingshot hammer to get rid of hammer bounce. Hammer bounce can be entirely eliminated with tweaks to the spring, hammer weight and valve return spring. The Eagle almost has it entirely eliminated with this set up but there's still a tiny bit of bounce remaining. The main issue with the Eagle is the reg pressure being far too high but this affects all sub 12ft-lbs PCP's.
