On the other end of the Webley scale, I'm having my .22 Birmingham Patriot treated to a professional strip down with a new factory spring, piston seal and polished internals. It looks like it hasn't been apart in decades. I actually watched your review on the Patriot before I bought one but I've wanted one for 20 years+ and I'm 37. The metalwork finish is 🤌 Before sending it off it made 21-24 ft lbs plus or minus with most quality pellets but it was making 28-29 ft lbs with 18 grain H&N Barracudas! (only if they are 5.54mm - it likes wider pellets). I'm expecting it to be complete any day now and cant wait to see how much power it now makes. It takes a lot of discipline to shoot with accuracy but its very fun to plink with!! I'm currently trying to decide on another break barrel for an FAC project to chase similar power, either a HW90 or a HW80 with a 19.5 inch barrel that I can convert.

I enjoy shooting my falcon it’s a fantastic little gun doesn’t seem pellet fussy and always puts a smile on the grumpy owners face 😊 If anyone out there would like something similar that’s also a joy to shoot. may I recommend the HW30 kit 👍 if your eyes are getting old like mine, you’ll appreciate the kit as it has a scope and muzzle weight that’s 1/2” unf just incase you’d like to fit a moderator just for giggles 😊 If only, we still produced quality products like this.

Who put all the varnish on this? I think this is over glossy as I have a falcon and this is way over restored. Mine is for sale if you want it, I am in Wiltshire.

where did you find mounts that fit it!? im selling mine purely for the reason that i cant get on with open sight due to my eye sight and all i can find that fits it are the mounts found on the original 4x15 webley scope

@extreme_loe Fair play mate, only trying to save you some grief , they have never been full power either, despite the advertising, I've had loads of em pass through my hands over the years since the 80s , not one of the best from webley 👍👍👍🍻

@ would you know of any alternatives? i really do find the short length appealing as im not the tallest bloke and like the idea of a compact, pointable ideally british made rifle and other than the accuracy issues youve pointed out the tracker fits the bill

I have an Original Model 50 underlever in .177 made in April 1976 ... Although a little underpowered due to an old spring I just love this gun... Had it over 30 years and i will never sell it despite a few friends trying to prise it out of my hands with rediculous offers

Isn’t this the gun they were shooting in Rourkes Drift? 🤣 actually love seeing the classics. They’re much more interesting and beautiful than modern rifles.

I don't know why others look so surprised when I shoot my old rifles, some of them are just as good as most of the modern stuff.

I think a series on 70s 80s airguns is in order. It's funny most modern shooters want the latest and greatest precharged and see springers as something to collect rather than using them out in the field for hunting. My main hunting rifle is a Hw30 that shoots at 8.5ftlbs, this rifle has accounted for loads of rabbits, pigeons, and rat's being lightweight you can carry it all day and it's incredibly accurate.

My falcon is probably the same. It's a junior gun and it's very easy to over tune it. Making it feel harsh. So I put the original spring back

you can drift the hooded foresight with a hammer and punch for adjusting windage…. it’s a one time only type of adjustment as you can knock it out of the grooves if too heavy handed… got mine accurately shooting though….

Hw80 in .25 or this? Is the hw80 worth the extra £450. Looking to keep it for decades
@bigdansairguns83
@bigdansairguns83 4 күн бұрын
The HW80 is the more refined gun and it has a much better trigger on board, the bluin and metalwork is also somewhat nicer on the HW80 compared to the Striker. That said if I had to be honest the Striker is a really straight little shooter and there wouldn't be barely anything in it downrange.

Hi, I'm looking at this rifle and the walther rotex rm8 varmint uc 177 what would you say
@bigdansairguns83
@bigdansairguns83 6 күн бұрын
Hi Greyhound, that's a difficult one as both are excellent rifles. For me I'd personally pick the Lyra-K. It's lighter, every bit as accurate and in my opinion has the superior trigger. The Rotex has a better shot count but the regulators are also quite slow to recharge so you'll need to wait 10-15 seconds per shot for consistent power. I think the Lyra takes it personally and it should leave change for accessories too.

I'm a but confused. 750 feet per second in a 177? That's low for .22. What's going on there? The umarex notos is shooting 700 fps but is anemic for squirrels. Would this in .22 be an upgrade? Also how quiet is this rifle?
@bigdansairguns83
@bigdansairguns83 10 күн бұрын
Hi Anthony! I'm guessing you may be from the U.S. In the UK we're limited to 12ft-lbs without a license. The rifle isn't quiet without a silencer but you have 1/2UNF thread on the barrel.
