An interesting test and rather demanding with that gusty wind. As I’m thinking about getting a Webley MkVI and dithering between the two calibres this video was very helpful, as were your previous posts with this pistol. Many thanks 🙏

The heavier the pellet will get you better shot placement and groups , that is why I prefer ..22 cal etc mate . Thanks Reeves 😎👍🏻

The 22 has a rifled barrel while the 177 is smooth bore. The Air Gun suppliers have aftermarket 22 kits for these guns. It's a 5 minute job to change out the 177 smooth bore barrel to the 22 caliber rifled barrel. The kits are about $25 plus shipping.

Unfortunate we don't have a choice, here in the USA, MK VI's are only available in .177... 22 def seems to have the advantage in the wind. I am trying to decide between the the service or police model though, would like to see a head to head with those two in .177 as in easier to shoot and accuracy, possible Mr. Reeves ?

The S&W Schofeild is the American equivalent of the Webley revolver. There are speed loaders that will fit these break open style guns.

Not easy can bashing at those distances...well done.

I have the .22 version, I always thought the extra weight of the .22 round gives it extra kinetic energy and accuracy over short distances ? but thats a matter of opinion ?

How close do you have to be to penetrate the cans.? Also you can try heavier pellets to raise the point of impact.

Is there any new word on laws going into place banning the lead pellets?

Not that I know of

It really only effects shotguns, they are the ones spreading lead all over the countryside. Although no doubt some braindead in government will lump all ammunition into the same bracket.
