WebMapping application using PostGIS, Geoserver and GeoExt - Part 3

This is the third video about creating a WebMapping application using PostGIS, Geoserver and GeoExt.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a webmapping application that displays published data using GeoExt. With GeoExt, you can start from nothing and have a rich mapping application in seconds.
To start with GeoExt, we are going to use a basic example from GeoExt homepage. This example shows how to design the application interface, display WMS data in the map and add a dynamic legend.
The user programming requirements are HTML and JavaScript.

Hi, I've a problem with pink tile for legend's layers on page which you have shown on 4:20. Do you know how to reslove this issue?

this problem is occured when the wms layer used in the example is not avaliaible (problem in the geoext server). so you can't do anything

Hello. I have the same problem as others.When I see the Geo Ext Legend Tree page data source it does not give me the Ext(web address). Could somebody help? Thanks a lot and congrats for this tutorial.

Sir, this application is published in local server only. If i want to publish it in global server what is the next step? Is it possible to have some query as well as photo hyperlink option.

+manoj haloi : if you want to publish it in a global server, it is simple : change the link of layers in the code by replacing LOCALHOST with name or IP of your server. yes it is possible to display photos using Geoserver GetFeatureInfo Templates, see this page : docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/tutorials/GetFeatureInfo/index.html

Capas sea tarde, pero... Fijate en el archivo tree-lejends.js que en vez de ponerle el titulo del archivo tenes que ponerle el nombre en el campo "layers". A mi me pasaba los mismo y haciendo eso me funciono
