The description incorrectly calls Denning Master of the 'Roles' - It should be Master of the Rolls.

Lord Denning was a very talented judge. Very few judges write in his simple, yet informative and analytical style. Read the case of Lloyds Bank Ltd. V Bundy or the High Trees case and you will get what I mean...

The segment with Doug Collins was so profound and timeless. The concerns that they were discussing from his book and the situation with immigration and warnings he gave if they didn't get a handle on it has yielded precisely what he warned us about. He wanted immigration reform so that a more fair balance could be adopted. To hear that people who were born and raised in Canada were not able to get employment because those jobs were given in preference to the refugees first was extraordinarily unbalanced and unfair. This truly has nothing to do with racism but more with carving out a fair and equitable solution for a better immigration system. The United States has the same issue with regard to immigration. The immigration laws have not seen an overhaul in years. This is the problem. As all societies grow so must your laws and the way that they are applied. We can't apply an outdated law or process for immigration that once served beautifully in the 70's to a more complex society in year 2019. Too many life factors have changed since the 70's and so must our paths towards immigration to all countries. When you have a serious issue with refugees from active war zones then there must be an active plan specific each country so when they reach out their hand to take in refugees they do so with a fair an equitable solution for the native citizenry. Particular to the US, Canada and the UK I find that the vast majority of citizens are compassionate and want to lend a hand to help in all desperate matters. But if they don't create a plan of fairness then what will inevitably happen is that you will lift one set of people up and destroy the other set of people.....this is our main problem. There must be a better way. I'm convinced that there is someone out there that can carve out a better plan and indeed a better solution to the many immigration issues of today.

He'd have a stroke if he saw what the justice system turned in to today. A lot of judges wrestle and ignore his rulings.

When parliament requested they change the wording from “hanged by the neck until you are dead” to “you shall suffer death in the manner prescribed by law” I imagine that change seemed like flowery leftist coddswallop to Denning…..I think he took a great deal of pleasure in passing the sentence of death on a man and why would you water it down…it’s not due to a morbid perversion but it’s owing to the fact that he clearly felt he was an agent of divine justice which to him superseded the laws of the land…it’s not his place to challenge the law just to interpret and apply it. He had the wisdom to know he had to bend to the law in order to continue doing so I could not disagree more with his stances on morality and religion however there’s something admiral about his zeal.

By interpreting the law you might think he is challenging the law. But the law is a living thing, not a series of dead formulas.

This is not a fair portrait of the genius of Denning.By this time he had slightly lost his mind.
