Looking forward to the finished product. As a tool & die maker I'd just like to suggest slowing down the speed and increasing the feed when reaming. Speeds and feeds for reaming are very different from drilling. Thanks for the videos.
@WeCanDoThatBetter2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your comment and hint on reaming. It felt like it needed a lot of force to press the reamer in so I did it very slowly. But obviously that wasn't the right way :)

Dang, that is more than 3 signs of you being in Germany in this video… Your channel kept on popping up when I was binge watching TOT for the 23rd time, so I thought I gave it a chance. Wasn’t disappointed. So, all in all: Glückwunsch zum Kanal und natürlich zur Berg&Schmid! Großartiges kleines Maschinchen ☺️ Grüße aus Berlin 🙋

I think you should do the bearing swap in the headstock. I did mine and it really was a night and day difference. Congrats on the new machine, that was very generous. Look forward to more content, Cheers

Thanks for your comment and your suggestion. To change the headstock bearings is definitely on my list to do in the future. I have some ideas what to change also when putting out the lathe spindle and disassembling the headstock.

I’m well impressed with what you produce on your lathe. Sure, a milling machine would probably be easier, but only having one tool makes you think about minimising setups, so it’s probably good practice!

@WeCanDoThatBetter2 жыл бұрын

Oh I keep forgetting to suggest that you should get yourself a quick change tool post (a high end one, not the super cheap ones). Plus lots of tool holders. I went mad and bought 20, yes 20! Now every lathe cutting tool I own has a holder (plus 4 spare ones for future tools). No shimming or adjustments needed once set up 👍

I do look forward to seeing this come togther; I could certainly use one myself. If I may ask, what happened with that oversize bore? Was the reamer a bigger size than the shaft?
@WeCanDoThatBetter2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I don't know it exactly. The reamer was for a 18mm h7 hole. That means, it should produce a very tight tolerance hole. But obviously something in the process went wrong. Perhaps the tailstock with the reamer wasn't aligned properly or I hadn't the right speeds and feeds for cutting. Perhaps using oil for lubricaton wasn't right. I don't know it really ...:)

@WeCanDoThatBetter2 жыл бұрын

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:14-21
