An Ancient Greek tale, retold by a German writer, translated into Japanese (where it became a children's classic), turned into an extremely elegant pop song by Wednesday Campanella, then brought to Mongolia by the mv director. Outstanding!

Yeah, actually the Japanese and the Mongolians have quite a long history of cooperation, so it's not too strange to hear one language in the other's video. ;)

E come mentalità?

At the beginning quote says that "I must run no matter the cost, I have sacrificed so many for uncertainty, the consequence is real as my action, i can't stay here right now, the time of my precious youth is gone, there is no time to dig the past (look backward). Ps:i'm still learning English.

@@femaleskater1185 Mongolian is written in the Cyrillic alphabet. By the same logic, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese all look overly similar (which they do, actually).
I'm from Brazil and discovered this song some days ago. In college I am studying japanese language and literature ,today I was making some research about modern literature writers and found this story of Osamu Dazai and was atonished remembering of the chorus here. I want to thanks for this production, because now, I have more interest in read the original story and make an analysis article or presentation in academic ambient.

I thought it was shot in Mongolia and decided to check it in description. OMG they literally gave credits to every single person that participated in the production of this masterpiece. So nice to see that everyone’s work was appreciated!
From the beautiful vocals and awesome guitar chords. To the huge future bass drop. Everything about this MV is amazing! Heck they even added a breakbeat part!
3:29 From a musical production standpoint: I can't get over how that vocal take seems so absolutely perfect to my ears, it gives me goose bumps. holy crap. i can't even imagine how many takes that must have taken to get to that. there's some quality to her voice at that singular point in the song that just blows me away. i can't even put my finger on it. the word that comes to mind is the "undertones" in her voice. if somebody with more theoretical knowledge could chime in, i'd appreciate it.

Holy shit this song is SO COOL! The literature nerd in me actually recognized what this was referencing! From Wikipedia: "Run, Melos!" (走れメロス? Hashire Merosu) is a Japanese short story by Osamu Dazai. Published in 1940, "Run, Melos!" is a widely read classic in Japanese schools. The story is a reworking of Friedrich Schiller's ballad Die Bürgschaft, which tells the story of Moerus and Selinuntius (who have lent their names to Dazai's characters as well). The most prominent theme of "Run, Melos!" is unwavering friendship. Despite facing hardships, the protagonist Melos does his best to save his friend's life, and in the end his efforts are rewarded.

@mathieuconnor45646 жыл бұрын
Also Melos was a Greek island that was destroyed by Athens during the Pelopponesian war, in a siege. There was a famous classical speech defending the island city's right to avoid conflict... didn't work out too well in the end though... It's called the Melian dialogue. Look it up! This song references that fight. "No chance of winning. Got nothing but my life."
@stonecat6766 жыл бұрын
Of Dazai's works, I have only read "No longer human" and "Schoolgirl". And yeah, I came to be interested in several new japanese authors thanks to the anime bungou stray dogs. Before that, I only knew Murakami and Banana Yoshimoto.
A Greek Story sang by a Japanese Singer shot in Mongolia... I love how she synergize these three things into one interesting video. She's definitely an artist!!

While others commenting about the viseo and the story, i just amuzed by the music production made in this song. All the instruments are in harmony. Especially the bass drum when hits then continued by a clap of sticks played along with trumpets.
