I love your heart in sharing this video. I’ve been married a long time now but one thing I would say is that foreplay is soo important to help a woman prepare bodily for sex. Don’t just jump into the intercourse part…touch each other and get aroused first, kiss etc . This is so important for women to have a more comfortable and satisfying sexual experience IMO and if it’s his first time…be prepared that it might be quick!!

Best advice I received about the wedding night: 1 you do not have to have sex. If you are both exhausted and stressed from the wedding......don't have sex. 2 if it hurts STOP. It should not be horribly painful. If it is the woman needs more foreplay, more clitoral stimulation, more lube. Do not push through pain because you want to make your husband happy. It breaks my heart to think of how many women had horrible first time sex and it affected their sex life and marriage for decades. No woman will want to have sex if all she knows about sex is that it is horrible and painful:( 3 as a couple meet with an older couple you trust to talk about the wedding night and sex. So many men get their sex ed from porn. Porn is not sex. Women do not want to be treated like they are in a porno. Having sex with your new bride like they do in a porn movie will traumatize your new wife. Get real knowledge on the sexual response cycle and how to make a woman orgasm. Your sex life and marriage will be so much better if you are pleasing your wife and making sure she almost always has an orgasm.

Biggest things learned from my wedding night are - breathe, communicate, and it's okay to ask, "Can we switch gears?" or to slow down the motions, stop for now and pick that back up tomorrow, etc. Especially if you've been anxious or tense or finding things painful and uncomfortable. Any media you've seen with romance.... It's not the standard to set for that moment. In your minds, you've both already built this up and probably created some expectations of what it'll be like. Not to burst your bubble, but there's a decent chance your night won't be exactly what you had in mind - do what you can to accept that and just be okay with it. Regardless, it's a special time that marks a new phase in your lives and relationship!

Thank you. You just liberated me. I was feeling so guilty and ashamed thinking what kind of a woman or wife stops sex half and waits for a day to try again. I'm 42 years old and a virgin by the grace of God. (I was raised in a faithful Christian family and I got born again as a young teen so I've never been intimate with any man from touching, kissing and sex. Also I don't have much dating experience as my husband is only man I dated and married.)

This was a great video! A huge help for me when I was engaged is that my now-husband said "it's okay if we wait a few days to have sex if that is most comfortable to you." I felt so amazed and comforted by that because I had a lot of anxiety about it and I was worried that bringing sex into our relationship would cause my man to forget about my needs. He eased so much anxiety by saying that and we continued to talk about how we felt about starting to have sex, what we were looking forward to and worried about. One thing I would say for confidence, picking out some lingerie really made me feel so good! I tried it on beforehand and it honestly helped me to look forward to having my spouse in a new, special way. Also if you are open to having it on your wedding night, make sure your hair and makeup isn't too hard to get off :)

No idea why this came up in my suggestions (I’m an old married lady), but I wanted to hear what advice you had. All great, sound, practical advice! I will add: buy a commercial intimate lubricant: gentle, so won’t irritate, and can prevent discomfort of unpleasant friction. Don’t use something random from around the house (e.g. Vaseline) as this can irritate and then increase discomfort or risk of UTI.

We were both virgins the night we got married. And we just had a good time with each other, because I think it's more important just getting comfortable and feel familiar with each other instead of focusing on the act. Definite communication is a big factor. Agree with what you said about laughter we did a lot of that . We were married 5 days before as if you were in use the word consummated, But I wouldn't change a thing. Everything was perfect.

I wanna talk about my mom and how _I_ had to explain to _her_ that women often bleed their first time. We think of parents who teach abstinence as not being very open, but I’d say my mom is relatively sex-positive. That said, she was an athlete all throughout school and matured rather young (menarche at age 10). So one afternoon we’re watching _Call the Midwife_ (excellent series, 10/10 would recommend) and when 2 of the nurses are discussing tampons being given to unmarried girls, my mom is like “what are they talking about? Why the controversy?” And because I’m chronically online & read a lot of books, I explain. I love that my mother birthed & raised 2 children without knowing that it’s considered the norm for sex to be painful the first time. Like…no one warned her and she didn’t need the warning because it didn’t happen.

I was a virgin when I was married years ago and I have to say I felt a ton of pressure and expectations and I made the mistake of not communicating because I didn't know how to. The thing is, sex is the glue that binds relationships together and yet it can also become what feels like a burden. I think because of the sexualization of our culture I felt the pressures of needing to have a lot of sex and be sexy and please my husband. Unfortunately, this did not prevent him from having a porn addiction which I have had to make my peace with. The reality is, sexuality is a very nuanced and a difficult part of our humanity. A lot of shame and guilt is also woven into our psyches around it. My best advice is that sexuality is a natural, normal, healthy desire. Being attracted to other people happens. Being married doesn't mean that other people suddenly disappear but we can also choose how we respond to ourselves (hopefully with a ton of love). Sexuality also opens the door to questions about our bodies, our worth, our beauty and desireability. The force of orgasm can bring up very powerful emotions including crying. This is normal. Normalizing sexuality includes seeing that its not some romantic end all be all, but a continued open conversation with our hearts, our bodies and our needs within the safe container of marriage and/or partnership.

@@sharroon7574 I hope so too. I hate that it’s become something women in relationships are supposed to/pressured to “just accept”. Marriage is putting your spouse before yourself and everyone else, choosing them every day and it’s disrespectful to your loved one to entertain lust outside of your relationship. It makes me so sad how many of my friends become so complacent with something I know bothers them. They just feel like it’s making huge deal out of nothing to expect better.

I attended a Catholic Boys HS and we were taught by an order of brothers (male nuns) who take vows of celibacy. But there are various stages of the vows leading up to final vows, for life. Br. John had taken final vows & he would speak against masturbation, for one thing. One day in class he advised us to "go easy on your wedding night, because if you go too wild the first time, you may ruin the relationship for the rest of your life." Well, dear old Br. John ended up breaking his lifetiime vow of celibacy, and he got married. I certainly hope he didn't go too wild on his wedding night !

Hope you don't mind a guy commenting. I've been waiting a long time; what's one more day? Honestly I think that once I do find the right woman, the wedding night won't matter nearly as much as the rest of our lives, despite my instinct being to hit the ground running as hard as I can. I've been to weddings for family members where I had to work all day and I was exhausted afterward, so I can just imagine what it must be like to be the couple getting married. Honestly after such an emotionally draining day and all that goes into it, I think I'd be beyond exhausted and happy to put sex off til later. The thing is that for a few years I've been worried about this, whether I'd be sending the message to my bride that I was disappointed in her or didn't find her attractive! But from what I'm hearing from multiple sources is that if more men thought like me then maybe the pressure and expectations (obligation?) wouldn't be heaped on what really should be a joyous occasion. Clifford & Joyce Penner have some wonderful books on sex, as does Sheila Gregoire, worth reading for all people out there, Christian or not.

There's nothing wrong with waiting until the next day! We didn't wait until the next day because we had a small covid wedding that went from around 12pm - 2pm. 1. Talk about contraception BEFORE! If you want to do NFP you should start a few months before having sex. 2. Don’t feel pressured that your first time having sex does have to be your wedding night… You have plenty of time during honeymoon. Also you can focus a bit more, cool down, relax… If you waited so long - a few days more could be worth it 😉 3. Actually your first time having sex won’t be the best 😂 so no need to remember it precisely bc it will get waaaaayyy better over the years - at least that’s my experience! 4. Learn to talk about your experiences together. It’s so important to verbalise both your emotions and your physical sensations. That’s the only way to get over the awkwardness at the beginning and all the wrong expectations and pictures you might have in your head.

Once you enter a marriage union with your spouse, both of you become one together. It takes a while to have a switch of mindset to know that he belongs to you and you belong to him. Know that marriage was ordained by God and that it is a safe and legal way to enjoy His good gift of sexual intercourse with your spouse. Take your time and communicate on what is comfortable and not comfortable. It is usually more difficult for a woman to enjoy sex as she has to get into her most vulnerable state of becoming naked before her husband while spreading her legs apart and allowing him to penetrate her. Plus she may not be mentally prepared should a pregnancy occur.

Hey! Not a virgin, never been married. Currently abstinent/celibate. It's actually a misconception that your first time has to be painful or will you will definitely bleed. I'm embarrassed to say I only learned this a few years ago.. 18 years after the fact. Some people will have blood due to the hymen stretching too fast and tearing but you don't have to bleed. Your hymen (except in certain cases) doesn't cover your full vaginal opening; otherwise menstrual blood wouldn't be able to leave your body. You also can't judge virginity based on the appearance of a hymen. If you go slow and start small with a finger and are properly lubricated there shouldn't be pain. I know this could prove difficult for some partners, cause I'm talking slooooooww lol. Also the vagina expands when you're aroused properly. I fewl like we've come too far for some of these myths around womens reproductive health to still be lingering lol. That is all! 😊

This is not true. You will not get a UTI from not showering regularly, nor can you get one from close contact from someone with poor hygiene.
@BrooklinnGorrlll Жыл бұрын
@@andreah1836 yes, I’m 27 years old. I’m not some teeny bopper on here. If your man is not cleaning himself properly, or has bad hygiene , and you have sex , you can get a UTI … I never said anything about close contact. It’s not the flu. If any penetration occurs and you or your partner is not clean or takes proper hygienic steps, you can get a UTI. Urinary tract infection. Google it for yourself ladies. BACTERIA is what causes the UTI , in turn, if someone is not clean, there is unhealthy or foreign BACTERIA introduced to your urethra, you can get a UTI. goodness gracious. Do I need to explain further?
@sharroon7574 Жыл бұрын
I solved mine by giving up fragranced bath products and being sure to pee after sex. If I ever feel like I might have one, I take d-mannose. I know someone who takes it regularly to prevent them.
@NailtheIB Жыл бұрын
UTI is caused by a bacteria infection. The most common one is from a bacteria called E.coli( around 90% of the cases of UTI if I recall correctly.)To prevent it. To some extent, showering after the deed may help. E.coli is a common bacteria that is everywhere really. I recommend taking antibiotics. And because antibiotic resistance is also common, if one antibiotics stops working, then you should change to another one because it means antibiotic resistant bacteria may survive due to adaptation. Any support for your immune system may boost your time of recovery. But important to know that this is a treatment for uncomplicated and common cases of UTI. Urinary Tract Infection can also be caused by a virus however, it is rare. Hope this helps💕

Ok so include in your “list” the importance of tracking /predicting your period while wedding planning & the impact of wedding ‘stress’ on the monthly cycle. In other words what happens when your first time of a sexual experience as a new bride is literally delayed bc your period shows up right before you walk down the aisle (??) # TrueStory 🫣🫢🤭🤫 # married14 yrs # happy honeymoon~ing #patient Groom #ambushedBride #Nobody THOUGhT to ‘warn’ Us # hands ON learning 🤭🤭🤭🫣
