Website conversion is such a huge focus for me as Google sends me analytics showing how many people went to/go to my site both New visitors and returning traffic that I just don't get any conversions for. As long as you keep active with it and stay on top of things it should keep working great. But if you let it sit for a few years without any effort into content or backlinks, the competitors who outwork you on those fronts will start to outrank you.
