Hi Lucie, my daughter got married at the Foundry in NYC and it was absolutely magical and beautiful. We got the wedding cake and the groom's cake from 2 different bakeries in Brooklyn, and I still have people calling and asking me where they came from because they remember how great they were. Guest's always remember if the cake was good or lousy, so yes I agree with you about how important it is. So excited to see your wedding video.

It's so much fun to follow you as you plan your big day. I know what you mean about stressing over little stuff. The breaking point for us as we planned my daughter's wedding for 200 was chair covers. Need them or not? Color, fabric, size of chair covers, etc. Instead of crying, we bust out in uncontrollable laughter. And that's the key. Laugh, it's just a party. You will laugh over the bloopers later. As long as you say I do, the rest is fluff and fun. Enjoy every minute! Oh, and yes, the wedding is not nearly stressful enough. You should totally add moving before the wedding. LOL

Is it an american thing to have weddings more like performances instead of being about the marriage? In France nobody does a rehearsal for instance, you just show up and get married! 😂

A wedding is a process. The rehearsal is about making sure people know what to do, especially in religious ceremonies. The dinner is a thank you to the participants.

I think it depends on the couple! It’s actually really more common now in the us to either elope or have a very small wedding. I personally will be going that route and don’t even want bridesmaids... I think it’s all personal preference.

Your wedding is gonna be soooo different than mine! We had 35 guests, almost everything homemade and as cheap as possible :D I had one maid of honour and two bridesmaids. It was the best day ever that looked like us, simple and fun

Lucie! The first look was the best decision I made at my wedding! I'm so glad you decided to do one. I originally thought that I would want my husband to see me the first time I walked down the aisle, but my sister-in-law (a wedding photographer) convinced me to do a first look because she said the photos are always so amazing, and I routinely count that as one of the best decisions we made. I was FULL of nervous energy and couldn't STOP CRYING on the morning of my wedding - not sad tears just "overwhelmed with happiness and emotion" tears. I tried to make a toast to my bridesmaids and could barely get my words out. So then we did the first look and can I just say I will NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENT. I remember seeing my husband's face just light up at the sight of me and my nervous energy melted away and I was just so happy and in love. I honestly remember that moment more than any other moment at my wedding - and trust me, that's saying a lot, no wedding is more of a blur than your own. I have tears in my eyes just typing this remembering that moment. I'm so excited for you!!

So happy for you. :) I love your wedding planning updates. me and my fiancee got engaged last November and we also will be getting married approximately 1 year and 5 months from that. :) We are still in the process of finding the right venue because we are going to do it all on our own. A friend of mine got engaged last Christmas and is getting married in June. They really winged the organisation and had a lot of bumps on the road, but I am very excited for her and everyone who is currently planning their big day. :)

I’m sorry but I find outrageous that overconsumption and money spending for one party. It is the opposite of what love should be: free and simple. I don’t think you realize this is not the kind of wedding most people could have and that you come from a very very wealthy environment. I wish you find simplicity in your love life.

I think it's beautiful, celebrations always are. You don't get married just to celebrate the couple and love, because you get to do that everyday, in private. But you also do it for the people that are close to you and have always been supporting you and your couple. I mean, I'm italian and I'm living abroad since 4 years now, I lived 3 years in england and now I'm in France, so I met so many new people from different countries that became important to me but I also kept in touch with my friends in Italy and obviously my family and recently I found myself dreaming of throwing a big party to bring all the people that I love together and I think a wedding might be an amazing chance to do that, you put your favorite person and all the people that you truly LOVE together in one venue and make that day memorable. I think it's amazing and we get to live one life only, so it's worth it. Also, we all work with what we have, she can afford that and she does it big because she wants that. I support that, we are all different people with different possibilities.
