If you're trying to give Nintendo points for Birdo then I'd advise against it. They try to bury that stuff. Couldn't even get gay options in Tomodachi Life. They promised it in a hypothetical sequel but that never came about. If anything the new blood at Nintendo are on the right track with stuff like Splatoon having characters with non-binary pronouns and very obvious stuff happening with Pearl and Marina. Hopefully they'll be allowed to canonize it in the future.

​@@rthan1868 Captain Rainbow was made by Skip. The most they did was "okay" it. I'm just saying that Nintendo with Birdo is like Capcom with Poison. A character they made such a long time ago that they used language that implied they're trans and has since then made no real effort in treating them as such. Definitely not saying you can't love birdo or see her as a trans icon, but it really was the community that gave her that status, not nintendo. Trust me, I love Birdo and I'm constantly praying for the day that Nintendo finally gives us more than nothing. I mean even taking SMB2's manual into question, they even wrote down that she wanted to be called Birdette. The fact that she is still known as Birdo and they don't even mention the name Birdette already says a lot, at least in my opinion.
