if your gonna put a cover put a ROOF not a fabric roof or a Pergola put a roof that way the deck can be used even if its snowing/raining/ too sunny ...plus you can add lights & speakers / tv to a covered roof area and metal n glass dont belong on a deck ( SAFETY ISSUE) unless the metal is for posts n beams or the glass is for an enclosed porch with windows
