Wedgie Sled (Segmented Turning)

Several people asked about the table saw throat plate with replaceable inserts. It is based on a set of plans by Ralph Bagnall, the Consulting Woodworker ( consultingwoodw... - $7.99 ). The plans detail a throat plate for a Delta Unisaw, but they are easy to adapt to other saws.

I use a large flat chuck to flatten all of my rings mounted to the spindle. After they are all flat I mount the bottom to the spindle and mount my flat chuck to the tailstock mounting the rings by sliding the flat chuck to the preceding ring

Use complimentary wedges to cancel out any errors, cut one, turn over, cut the complimentary. Put the two together for a perfect wedge.
