Votaw was a forward thinker in repair in addition to being an excellent machinist and fabricator. The finish on his jig is durable and pleasing to the eye. It is a shame his work fixture is no longer offered. But, in his honor we designed our version of this tool and hope it will help the next generation of instrument repair technicians, as much as Carl helped us.
