Ritsu hates Japan and likes North Korea, actually. Also, Defoko isn't easy to use but can sound pretty clear if you have a lot of experience with the engine. Just wanted to point that out. And Acme Iku was made for another engine but was ported to utau. Another misconception: Yokune Ruko's gender. Ruko is intersex 90% male and 10% female but prefers 'she/her' pronouns as stated in her bio....but most refer to her as a boy.

I truly hope this doesn’t come of as rude because I am making a correction😅 but the reason Macne Nana is tied to Mac is because she was actually able to be used in the Japanese version of GarageBand for a while before she got moved to Utau. So apparently she was somehow popular enough to be inputted into three different softwares, even Vocaloid!😯

Ah! I'm not a mac user and never have been so I'm not familiar with how GarageBand works and the plug-ins needed. I had thought she was an Utau first, from what I had looked up, due to Utau being ported to Mac and overall promoting Mac support for vocal synth engines. Sorry about that!

The most common example of how long they can get is the word გვფრცქვნი (gvprckvni), a single-syllable word meaning "you (singular) peel us".

While a lot of UTAU are "weird", most of them are fairly normal. Most of the popular non-Vipperloids are pretty run-of-the-mill "likes to sing" types -I say, with my PFP being my own UTAU whose personality is having a Fortnite addiction.- Other people have said this as well, but I don't think Iku counts as an UTAU since she's just a port from another software. Sort of like how if someone ported Kaito into UTAU, he's still a Vocaloid, Iku is a Maidloid and not an UTAU. Same with the politician "UTAU"--he's actually a jinriki voicebank, and while his voice can be sampled to create an UTAU, it isn't a good representation for what UTAU is. The biggest misconception in this video imo is that UTAU is a whole bunch of weird voicebanks when, in reality, it's a lot of normal voicebanks with some standout strange ones.

It's the same tips I make for tuning any Vocaloid but I highly recommend listening to Meiko's voice provider singing IRL to help figure out proper fluctuations to make or shine or singers like Utada Hikaru who sing very similarly to Meiko's range :)

I doubt it. It's only because the concept of Vocaloid is "Do whatever you want!!! (so long as the character isn't voiced by an actual child!)" so making a series would kinda mess up that concept a lot because then you have people arguing over portrayals. Though Miku did make a huge cameo in a mecha anime!!! I can at least picture Vocaloid songs getting a series as though tell their own unique story where the Vocaloid character is often not involved and is only loosely used as a design idea.

I'm not 100% sure but a translation of Utau's usage policy doesn't say anything about that so I assume it's okay? I believe it's all down to voicebank permission. I know there are some voicebanks that do not allow commercial use of their songs while others is A-okay!

You have to input a lyric compatible with the Utau voicebank you're using. If a Utau uses Hiragana, you would replace "a" with "あ" instead. If you don't see any Japanese characters in the voicebank files, that means you have not set up your computer to read Japanese characters in your system. I highly recommend checking out some Utau tutorials for that because I'm honestly not great at it myself.

An Utau and Vocaloid is made using a vocal synthesizer. I think in this case, what you mean, is autotune that mimics a robotic effect. However, if you want, you can totally make your voice an Utau! Just look up tutorials for it because there's multiple ways of making an Utau voicebank.

Defoko's speech software gave the okay for one of their voice options to be used as an Utau. If you do not have legal permission to port a vocal synth into another engine, you shouldn't do it. It breaches the guidelines of that synth *AND* Utau's TOS. There's no need to be rude or come off rude in a comment by the way. :)

Really? I found it pretty easy to get it working. The tutorial I listed in the description is super easy too, so I recommend using that if you're having trouble! The only issue I still have is Defoko's voicebank where the hirgana just disappeared so now it's all a bunch of jumbled words instead of her Hiragana but other than that Utau works fine and it relatively easy to set up.
