Presumably theories are fine, but just in case theory below Xander definitely wrote that "Kill Teruko" note to himself before losing his memory, right? I figure he probably woke up with it. If I recall, he said something like "But I have to trust myself" when he stabbed Teruko, and I don't think blackmail is likely since he had on him just the note with no other threats. Since I feel mastermind MCs is an easy route to take fangans, it's not unlikely that Teruko was super evil (and maybe even gave Xander that eye injury) before the memory wipe thanks to her luck/trust issues driving her off the deep end. Pre-game Xander probably hid that note on his person or something, and mid-game Xander likely would have known his own handwriting. Given the context, I could see why he would try to follow his own advice; plus, it seems like the ultimate rebel of all people would be rather resistant to outside coercion if it was someone else who wrote it.

This first trial is the reason Teruko is my favorite fangan protag. It’s refreshing for a protag to have a realistic reaction to being framed and accused of murder (looking at you, Makoto) and her breakdown is on par with Nagito’s, which I thought was very entertaining. But unlike Nagito, her breakdown actually makes sense, as it stems from her clear past trauma instead of whatever hope stuff he was on about lol (still love him though). I’m very impressed how after 1 chapter I am fully invested in this protag’s story, which usually takes me much longer in many fangans. Edit: Also, pretty refreshing that a lie actually makes sense! She lies for herself to be cleared, not someone else who you can’t know for sure isn’t the killer.

Rewatching this again with Weeby reminds me of the all the pain I went through with Blaze watching this for the first time. This is such a high quality fangan with the characters, designs and trial. Best chapter 1 of any fangan and I couldn’t be more hyped for chapter 2.

While Teruko is my all time favorite fangan character, Whit is a close second. His personality is insanely similar to mine, as we both have a hard time taking things seriously, which often upsets those around us. That doesn't mean we are unable to, as Whit shows in the trial when Arei makes fun of Charles for his trauma (which is only one of the reasons I hate her even more than I hate Kanade).

Due to panicking, Min douse the water on Zander. Then she broke the light switch probably to distract him or so that he couldn't attack her. We couldn't think straight when in panic state, I think it makes sense why Min didn't think it would've kill Zander in the first place

For those who don't know, you CANT solve the Reimann hypothesis or at the very least it's an unsolved problem. Furthermore even if you could, it would take more than 5 seconds to write. In other words, despite Min's vast knowledge that second question was impossible and then to add insult to injury the stuff after that are things she probably could have done if she didn't just lose her right arm then subsequently her left and then her stool to reach the pad: name some enzymes or whatever (Can't see the whole question but it's not improbably Min knew the answer) write down 10 reasons why you don't deserve to die (might have been tight on the time limit given but still) the last one seems to say "solve the murder mystery now" which could have been as simple as "I killed Xander Mathews"

Honestly I feel extremely bad for Charles,even though I initially didn't like him (His character slowly grew on me) but the fact that he is so traumatized in the trial that he couldn't even defend himself...Man the fact that Arei called Charles a pu$$y for having a normal traumatic event response and knowing the fact that he can't defend himself makes me hate her more. He is a rude jerk but he didn't deserve to be heavily disrespected for that. I am so glad that Wit and Teruko manage to defend Charles. I am interested to see Charles character development arc would be like in this fangan.

As far as I remember the ones "blaming" (questioning) her were David, Teruko, Eden and Rose. We already get what is wrong with Teruko. David is a much more insecure person than he lets on, we can also remember one of his lines that it's Xander who inspires him now that he saw him up close. While Eden is shocked how of all people it was someone so close to her company, Rose and David are questioning Min about why she didn't confess from the start. Be it Kyoko, she would've immediately understood that Min just didn't want to die, but it were David and Rose, and I can imagine David having an egotistical stance in a critical situation. Can't vouch for Rose though, maybe she has her own can of worms.

During the first time I saw the trial, specifically Whit's part when he asked about how some of the given weapons were weird, I immediately thought of some ways that they could be used as murder / helpful weapons : Nico's laser pointer can be used as a luring weapon to trap the victim. David's megaphone can be used to deliver head trauma. As for Veronika's horror collection, take her pulling Ace and Arturo to the movie screening room to watch horror movies for example, but just Ace ( for scenario reasons ). She could make him watch horror movies, and Ace, being the scaredy cat he is, would probably be traumatized by the movies. Technically weakened at this state, Veronika could then easily kill him with some other murder weapons ( yes, I used the horror movies as luring weapons instead ). Don't know why all of this just came to my head the second Whit says that. I'm someone who is originally scared of anything related to murder or crimes ( except Sherlock Holmes ) ( I am still scared but only for true crimes ), but after sucking it up and watching danganronpa, I was intrigued by how creative some of the murders and executions are, even if they're pretty brutal ( truth be told, my first ever watched danganronpa video was Kaede's execution ), and the word ' murder ' was just screaming at me ever since ( lol ).

Also, we aren't really told what this "horror collection" is. Perhaps it's not collection of movies, but in actuality it's a collection of chainsaws or whatever. I'd say it's unlikely, because the weapon list comes from Charles, but then we also don't know how he got to know about all of the items. Another thing is, maybe David's megaphone is the same hacking gun from UDG.

Okay so I kinda wanted to put my theories for future chapters here. Normally I wouldn't, since I'm usually late, the chapters I'm predicting have already been created, and I may be accused of pretending it's just a theory so I can spoil stuff...But since they haven't been completed/posted yet, I figure I'm in the clear! If anything in here turns out to be true, I'll come back and delete it later so no one gets spoiled (If I remember, which I might not). (Spoilers for original Danganronpa games) Chapter 1: N/A Chapter 2: Victim: Charles Culprit: Arei Alright, so I'm honestly most unsure about my Chapter 2 theories. I've seen others speculate that Ace is going to be the next killer, but since he's my favorite character and I don't want to admit he might die soon...I've decided this is a red herring. In Chapter 1 of the original Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Sayaka, the fake-out helper character is killed, and this is what made it more apparent that Xander, the original helper character, would most likely be the first death. And since this did indeed happen, it immediately made most viewers less suspicious of Min when she started helping us out. Just as Kyoko replaced Sayaka and then helped us throughout the game, we expected Min to do the same. But then she was revealed as the killer. Seeing as this game seems to be playing with tropes from the original game to advert our expectations, this is how I've convinced myself Ace won't be the chapter 2 killer. In Danganronpa 2 and 3, the first person to initiate a Rebuttal Showdown dies the very next chapter, which leads into the line of thinking that Ace will most likely die the next chapter. However, this will not be the case. It will be another character we would not have suspected. Alright, enough ranting about that. As for why Charles will die...What else can he truly do for the rest of the game? If he cannot investigate the crime scene, or properly participate in trials, then keeping him around would be difficult. Also, his phobia of blood and gore could be easily manipulated by anyone who wishes to do so, which would make him an easy target. Of course, to do that, you'd need to fake an injury, or get someone so easily frightened that you'd be able to make them *think* they had an injury when they didn't even get hurt in the first place, but who would be that stupid? Oh. I guess Ace will have to play a part in this scenario. Okay, let me put it this way. Who could make a big deal about a small, believable injury without causing suspicion, as it's already in character for them? Ace. Someone could easily, (I'm just gonna make up an example), push him down the stairs, subtly use one of the blood packets in the infirmary to spill blood on him, and make him freak out even though he's not in any pain. When the injury turns out to be a small cut that you can't even see, everyone blames Ace's cowardliness and accident-prone nature and moves on. Well, except Charles, who can't do that because of his phobia. This would make him easy to isolate and easy to kill without anyone noticing for a while. This could also put Whit through a bit of a character arc. Once Charles dies, I'd bet he'd blame himself more than anything, and his habit of always being positive puts him into a state of denial, and so on and so forth. This could further complicate the trial, with first Whit admitting to the crime even though he did not commit it. The reason I think Arei is the culprit? Well, I'll admit I don't have much evidence, but she's just enough of a jerk to throw someone under the bus like that. Then again, the creators might be setting her up for an antagonist role, I can't tell. If they are, she probably won't die until later. But for some reason, I think it'd be kind of cool if everyone--as people in the chat pointed out--all got their slightly evil moments. Just having one sole character create most of the conflict is great if done well, don't get me wrong, but I'm kind of loving this so far. Back to the case, things seem to get a little complicated with this theory if Ace knows Arei pushed him, so there are two ways this could work out: 1: Arei threatens to kill Ace if he tells anyone. So he doesn't tell anyone, because you know Ace would totally fall for that (Pun absolutely intended). 2: You know how in the movies they set up a string close to the floor to make a person trip? Well, say Arei used one of those, set a strategically placed blood bag on the stairs, and now Ace doesn't know who did it. Maybe he doesn't even know someone set him up in the first place until later. Point is, he doesn't know Arei's the culprit, and this may even come with a small Ace Redemption Arc. And even though I REALLY want to tell you the exact events this Redemption Arc entails, that isn't what you're reading this for, so I'll spare you the details. Chapter 3: Victim(s): Arturo and Veronika Culprit: David Yeah, I know what you're thinking. What?!? The culprit is not Veronika?!? Because she gives off the definition of chapter 3 killer vibes. But I can't help but think it's too obvious. David, while more subtly, has shown moments of being not as he seems, which is why many people suspected him to be the culprit in Chapter One. It could just be that he's sick of acting positive all the time, but I feel like that could make for a really good freak out scene when he's caught. Like, the whole trial he's been smiling, but when everyone accuses him of the murder his face goes blank, like he's suddenly lost all interest in the conversation. Then I feel like he would start acting like a disappointed parent, making a slightly sad face and being all, "I had so much faith in all of you. And now you accuse me? I assure you it's a misunderstanding." He smiles, but it feels fake. Forced. Devoid of emotion. "But don't worry. *I'll make you understand* ." Moving on, the way in which chapter 3 goes about making sure the culprit kills two people gets complicated rather quickly. My way of going about this would be for Veronika to kill Arturo, only for someone to kill her (Them not knowing that a murder has already occured). This gives us two victims in a way that hasn't been used twice already in the Danganronpa series (Yes, I am mocking the 'another person just so happened to walk in' excuse). Even though one could argue that only the person who killed first should be punished, that person, Veronika, is already dead, so MonoTV just murders David, too. I don't so much think this will happen as much as I think it would be interesting. So I'm going to go into a bit more detail with this one. Veronika invites Arturo to watch another movie with her, which he actually accepts. Then, once she reveals her plot to kill him, she starts to mock him. "*Evil laugh* Don't look so crushed, Arturo! It makes it look like you actually thought we were FRIENDS!" "..." (Arturo's stunned silence) "Oh...Oh my. You actually did, didn't you?!? That's just! Ah, the horror you must feel right now, at the fact the first connection you've made with another person in *years* was actually plotting your death the whole time! I must admit, though I'm disappointed I have to miss the rest of this miserable killing game, this will almost certainly make up for it." I know this is sick, (So gore warning) but I can't help but imagine her horribly disfiguring him and then writing on the wall (In his blood, because Veronika would know that's the scariest way to write a message), 'WHO'S UGLY NOW?' But back to not-so-disturbing things, I'm not sure what David's motive would be, exactly, but I feel like it'd have something to do with his unhappiness about his talent, and how he's sick and tired of being the optimistic one everyone relies on, etc. Plus, unlike most Chapter 3 reveals, I don't think it would completely change or ruin his character, since we've seen signs of his pessimistic side since the beginning. Now, under all the pressure of the killing game, that side is just manifesting in a negative way. So it might actually make his character have more depth and make him MORE likeable! Unheard of for a Chapter 3 culprit, I know. But back to the trial, they can't figure out who could've killed both Arturo and Veronika, since the murder sites were far away and no one except Veronika traveled across the building between the two sites. That is, until they figure out Veronika killed Arturo. Once this is solved, the rest is pretty simple, and David's the culprit. Chapter 4: Victim: Hu? Culprit: Levi? Okay, I promise I'll come back to this comment later and finish this section! But after changing up the killing order, I have absolutely no idea for this Chapter right now, so I'll think about it and then finish! Chapter 5: Victim: Rose Culprit: MonoTV Okay, I'm not so sure on this one, but if Rose found out something important, then MonoTV would kill her, and then everyone figures out where Rose went and figures out what she figured out, and then the killing game is over because MonoTV gets executed. I was looking more at deaths and plot than the lore, so I have no theories as to what Rose would have found out. Survivors: -Teruko, J, Eden, Nico, Ace, Whit I feel like every character in that list would go through a nice character arc throughout the game, so I'm pretty happy with it. Still kind of confused and might make revisions later, but for now, this is my theory.

I feel like a Gnosia stream will go poorly: the game is largely town of salem vs AI and its easy to play for a long time without unlocking any new story stuff. I'd be interested to see Weeby cover it but I don't think livestream is the best place for it. I wanna go over my feelings around each of the characters just for funsies. Teruko: I love her. Her going off on everyone is simultaneously badass and kind of tragic. I will be profoundly pissed off if they pull a Kaede with her. Ace: I found ace funny this chapter but I think I will get tired of him pretty quickly without development. Arei: She's a little shit and it works but will there be anything else to her? Arturo: He's profoundly dislikable and I feel like he's less entertaining about it than Ace or Arei. Charles: It's rare for this archetype of character to have their vulnerabilities exposed this early. Honestly it's interesting but I feel like Charles may not be long for this world for a couple of reasons: 1 his tendency to shut down when exposed to gore might limit what can be done with him in deadly life and 2: He's getting to the stage where he and Whit are close enough to being a power couple that one of them needs to die. David: I really hope it wasn't David that told Xander to kill Teruko: it seems too predictable. That aside I think he's interesting with his positive persona but apparent darkness. Eden: Currently an adorable cinnamon role and nothing more. Sometimes that's all you need. Although I don't recall anyone in this archetype becoming a blackened. Hu: I genuinely dislike Hu. She just seems patronizing and insincere, and not in the possible villain way like David or Angie. J: J's a bit of a dumbass but she's doing her best and she does have moments of competence. She seems like a genuinely good person. Levi: Levi feels like he comes from somewhere dark and is trying to leave his past behind. He's interesting. Notably he is one of two people who didn't look like something inside them had broken after watching Min's execution, which has some disturbing implications. Min: I love Min's arc but I feel like she was a bit of a blank slate aside from it. Veronika: I feel like Veronika may be the mastermind and taking refuge in audacity, like "I'm so suspicious that I can't possibly the mastermind but actually I am!" Whit: It's interesting that Whit and Arei are in a similar annoying little Shit archetype but Whit switches it up by showing a genuinely caring side during the trial, I dig it. Whit is also the person other than Levi who handled the execution the best which is interesting given that he doesn't have nearly the implied past that Levi does. Xander: Xander reminds me in some ways of Kaede: positive and willful to a fault as they're unable to see that people they push forward may not want to be pushed forward. I feel like we're still missing something drastic about his character though: it seems very unlike him to kill someone because someone else told him to.

I don’t mean to add fuel to the fire so take this with a grain of salt but i think you aren’t using the term white washing right it’s true that not all japenesse people are white and most are likely to have color but you got to take in the fact that both media and marketing are appealed by white colored people whether that’s right or wrong is up to you but it’s a reality that’s been going on for years and while media is slowly starting to realize the importance of colored people it’s not all the way there and most likely won’t be until many years down the line. While I did ramble on from what the point I was trying to make whitewashing represents making every and all colored races white and purposefully attach a idea that the culture prone to whitewashing is all white. But like I said take this with the grain of salt my opinion isn’t yours just a new perspective as I’m in the process of learning about the morality of situations like these too. What I wouldve done to live as Min: Live through the Crime Scene: Put the pen with Teruko and find a different way to disguise his true Death through something that *Isnt* used by stabbing. Lastly, If that isnt an option either, than carry out the plan of Pinning Charles as the murderer and maybe even leave Teruko to die/ Kill her yourself. Living as Min (Without Murder): If you use the water as a distraction, you might also want to douse the floor in water and run.
