Boy, did seeing and hearing this bring back a lot of good memories! Used that exact model many times growing up! They don't make them like this anymore! Gotta love the classics...

Thank you for the video. I have the exact video, but I don't know how to re-spool the weed eater. If you know how to re-spool it, can you please make a video and post it? Thank you.

There is notch on the side of the bottom round disc. Press that down and rotate the upper cover anti-clockwise. the cover comes off the spool.

Just picked one of these up at a yard sale, do you know size line it uses?

Sure you probably found your answer last year but I'll leave this reply for any other inquisitive folks. As long as you can see/locate the Model Number on the base, you can google the online manual for it and download if you want. I didn't have a manual because I got mine at a yard sale too. The manual will tell you exactly what size line you need. MyWeed Eater (real brand) Model 1208 is an 8" and uses a small line, 0.65. I had to replace the trimmer line and I opted to do it myself rather than their suggested "prewound spool" which I would've had to order and wait for it.I wish Cheap Dad would have made an instructional video on how to start and wind the spool with new line since most of the other instruction videos are for other brands of trimmers. I didn't find one so I'm trying to figure it out from watching those other videos.

@@jessehacker4409 The spool should have an imprinted directional arrow on its top edge indicating which way to wind the line. As a general rule of thumb we wind it clockwise after sticking one end into a hole on the spool's core.
