Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

Our son passed away in December after a sudden illness that he fought for 7 weeks. So we know what you went through, but our saga didn't end the way we wished it had. I can't see life ever being the same without him. I'm glad Ethan made it through his illness in good shape. Wishing you all the best from here on in your journey on old Mother Earth. Take care.

Idea for the buck pen and I hope you see it! Expand it as planned, but add some sort of sliding door (not see through to keep the bucks less stressed from seeing each other with a female). When you want/need to breed, lead one buck on one side and keep one buck to the other. Then add the female to the side you'd like to breed with. Glad everyone is happy and healthy again!

We made pizza a couple weeks ago and used a packaged corn bread meal to put the pizza dough in so it didn't stick. It was so good. I used ranch dressing chicken and pineapple mushrooms on mine.

One of our favourite pizzas is: brush rolled out pizza dough with a little olive oil, sprinkle with crushed garlic and a little bit of parmesan cheese. Add small amount of caramelised onion, really thinly sliced potato (sliced on a mandolin), fresh rosemary, a bit more garlic then more parmesan. Baby bocconcini cheese is also good. Bake until bubbling and potato slices are tender. It’s our go-to first up pizza! So glad Ethan is doing okay, keep it up boy!

I am impressed with Tatum. She may be peeved about being milked but standing still (in the most hilarious position ever) she is. My Stella (only milker) must have the EXACT blend of snack to her liking or it's a battle of the rear legs and rocking back n forth. No snacky snacky? NO milky milky! They’ll be raising Rose (Fern’s doeling) and Raven (Tilly’s doeling), but they may decide later on to sell them as milkers. Poe (Tilly’s buckling) is going as a breeding buck. Quill (Tatum’s buckling) and Emmett (Fern’s Buckling) are going as wethers/pets as their dams aren’t proven yet. DaNelle has said she won’t ever be letting a buck go out of Fern due to her teats.
