How much MONEY did we spend on the goats this year?

Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

that sweater very well might have belonged to an elderly person who had difficulty putting on clothes regularly- the snaps make it easy for caregivers to dress their patient who isn't as mobile as they used to be. this was how a lot of my long term resident's clothing was like when I worked in a nursing home. it's meant to be worn with help!

People with dementia too it helps some people would have clothes specially made like that so they don't take their clothing off.

@@Weedemandreapyes it’s mostly for people that are in wheelchairs or nursing homes that cant dress themselves. All my mom’s clothes are like this she’s in a nursing home and she’s not mobile..

I was just gonna say that!! Also some people who are developmentally disabled and have little twisted bodies would have clothing that is modified this way also. I worked in state hospitals for 32 years this was a common modification of clothing.

My Granddaughter finally got her goat. A stuffed Willow goat that is. She now has me looking for a WILLOWS STUMP for her. lol. Lillian said to give Willow a bunch of love from her Mini Willow goat now residing in Washington state. ❤

One way to calculate the value of things like goatsmilk, is to estimate the cost of buying an equivalent amount if what you recieved from the goats. Essentially, you are gaining an equivalent value, even though no money is changing hands. I bet your goat raising hobby saves you a ton on groceries!

That is an adaptive jacket, used for people with limited mobility - often wheel chair users or geriatric patients. It makes it easier for caregivers to get them dressed without them having to move their arms too much.

The Jacket is for kiddos or adults in wheelchairs. My daughter has a few of these jackets it makes it easier to just put on her arms and just snap the top of the jacket but she is still able to be in her wheelchair without being leaned up because of a big jacket also easier to take off of her as well. They are called adaptive jackets

The zipper or buttons can be for ppl who have a port or do things like chemo. It helps them stay warm during treatment or when they need their port connected to. The buttons being in the “front” option can also be for ppl with a direct line for feeding etc.

Congrats on the $🎉. I've worked with dementia patients at home ,so ive never seen these garments 🤔. I had one lady that could of used something like this. She would go in her room for a "NAP" and come out with layers and layers of clothes , and like 5 pairs of nylons on,trying to get her out of these getups was the challenge 🥴! Try putting the jacket on backwards, snapping it up, pulling your arms inside then turning it around, and putting your arms back in the sleeves with the snaps in the back. Easy peasy!
