this is the first time i have seen the actual announcement of the winner. i couldn't believe his reaction! i scrolled down to see if anyone picked up on this before leaving my own comment, and i am so glad to see that at least one other person noticed! having watched the reactions of so many other winners, i was very touched how michael was so concerned about the girl/his competitor and made sure to address her and say what he needed to say to her first...before acknowledging anyone else. and, having read that he is this way in-person at the clubs where he performs, i feel he was deserving of his win on many levels.

I think many of us did believe that voting would be fair, but this video gave me my first indications that it was rigged, that the opening of the envelope was a charade. based on just the backstory. if michael didn't win this show. someone should have just given him 1 million anyway. he deserves it more than the little girl. he has been working on his craft longer than that girl has been alive. and that back story is a heart breaker of a backstory. he wants to do something to repay his grandparents before they pass away. he doesn't want them to die with a loser for a grand son. that just touches everyone in a way where they want him to make his grandparents proud.

I am a HUGE jackie fan and i just hate it that she had to lose but a ten year old girl going to vegas isnt very good. Micheal Grimm was very talented and needed that. He is humble. If I was Mr Grimm, I would have told that little girl that she could be a part of the show in Vegas. I would grab her and make her a big star as well. I believe in compassion and honor. Grimm got the money and Jackie got the recording contract and the platinum and gold records. 4yrs later she is producing her 5th professional CD and launching a world tour while I guess M. Grimm is back to doing what he did before AGT. I haven't heard nothing about him since 2011.

Grimm found out he prefered singing in small clubs, did build a house for his Grandparents, and married his girl. He's happy and Jackie and he are friends still. She has made millions touring and recording. Freshman in High School now. Been to Russia, Japan, England, Central America,Bali, Indonesia.

AA Sharp LOL you triggered? Yeah nearly every contestant on the show has some kind of sob story but, for me, that is never a factor whether they deserve to win or not. Whether she was robbed or not remains a mystery really. My guess is the fix was in and Jackie was getting signed and she was definately not doing that entire 26 stop U.S. tour. Oh by the way he got signed too with Epic Records. He just didn't sell. I suppose its because the original Michael Bolton is still performing.

Jackie did exactly 10 of those 25 tour stops for AGT and the night of their Kansas City show she was busy performing for 12,000 at Madalay Bay in Las Vegas as a guest singer for David Foster's " The Hitman Returns' tour. The week before she had just signed a record deal with Syco and Columbia Records. AGT Live Tour did 25 shows starting Oct 1 with the last show Nov. 7th. No way was 10yo Jackie going to do be subjected to that grueling schedule.

I am a fan of Michael Grimm, he has a truly great and wonderfully soulful voice, and sings the kind of music I have enjoyed listening to my whole life. But he did not receive the most votes. A deal was made with Jackie's parents. Jackie was signed to a huge contract {reportly $5 million} which also let her get out of doing many of the AGT Tour concerts. Jackie's parents and the producers of AGT did not want her tied to Vegas deal.

Everything went exactly as agreed upon. Jackie got a large contract, was released from 15 of the 25 AGT Tour stops, and was free to make other appearances during the time the AGT Tour was going on, including being featured in David Foster's Vegas Show.
