All of this is Bill B teaching Mac a lesson for whining and bitchin' last year. Bill lost a superbowl to teach a cornerback-Butler-a lesson, so he is not afraid to screw with Mac. I also think B.B is teaching Kraft a lesson for not keeping Garapolo.

It's difficult to take that kind of initiative with your teamates when you keep playing like crap yourself. You could trace this back to when they lost 4 of the last 5 in his rookie season after starting 9-4. Maybe he's never learned to deal with that or maybe he just doesn't have it in him to deal with it?

Hey man they had a more productive offense shot for shot week for week under Matt Patricia, they had a better record, they were improving consistently up through the MIN game, and Mac decided to voice his disagreements in an unprofessional way that went over the chain of command and was aired out in public. You will not find a single company in any sport or profession who accepts that as the standard, whatever the facts are around the issues. That is also wildly different from the fans who pay the 2nd highest ticket prices in the NFL complaining that the product is not worth their money or time. The salaries of the players, value of the franchise, and popularity of the NFL are all driven by the people spending money to watch the sport. You've got it backwards, Mac has not earned anything from NFL fans as a whole.

@@donywahlberg Last year they had Jakobi Meyers. They played a bunch of sh*tty teams and could run the ball for more than a 2.5 avg. This isn't a company or the military, it's the Not For Long League and players need to worry about their careers. Players force their way out of bad situations and players like Elway and Eli force their way out of bad situations before even playing for the teams. Football is a different world than it was twenty years ago and coaches need to understand that and adapt or die.

It's all been one big dragging of the goal posts up here in New England. Excuse after excuse with the anchor point being "Mac came out ready and the Pats ruined him". In the preseason it was "getting back to Alabama Mac with BoB" and this week after failing miserably it's "we can only look forward" in his press conference. Lost cause

Belichick as GM explains the long-term decline. The precipitous decline this year, after looking competitive the first two games, is because of Mac Jones. He is not a leader. Under pressure, he resorts to being dirty, and he acts douchy. Leaders improve and inspire others in adversity. The sudden decline this year happened after Mac tried to hit sauce Gardner in his private parts. Nobody on the field respects him or will go the extra mile for him. Bailey Zappe has leadership qualities and poise (i.e. not douchy). Letting him start and utilizing Malik Cunningham for run pass options in the red zone, what is the worst that could happen? Three turnovers including a pick six? It can’t get worse. At least it would be interesting.
