Week 1: Introduction to 'Sur' | Chandrani's Online Music Class

Hello Everyone!
I am Chandrani Sarma and this is my official KZbin channel.
I was an international singer on ZeeTv SaReGaMaPa 2016 [ • Video ].
I also did the opening act for Dance Singapore Dance (Season 2) [ • Dance Singapore Dance ... ].
A bit about me: Learning Music since Childhood, I started my professional singing career when I performed with Ali Zafar in 2014 [ • Chandrani Sarma in Ali... ] in his Singapore concert and also uploaded my 1st KZbin video cover. I performed with Mika (in March 2015, also in Singapore) and had my first solo concert in 2015 at Fort canning in Singapore. Over a course of 2 years I have uploaded some 20 videos and performed at various private and public events. I shifted to Mumbai in 2017 to pursue my musical career here since then.

I wanted to start these online classes for those who have limited access to knowledge and tools of how to go about learning Classical music. Because I feel basic knowledge of Sur and Taal as well as musical terms like Scales or Saptak are important for any music lover who aspires to improve his/her singing projection. These classes will be uploaded every week, on Saturday, for 12 weeks.

When my daughter was young at that time she loved to sing but nowadays she is too busy, doing her studies and Abacus. Nowadays she is not singing, but to relax after studies she sings. But after seeing singing classes video again she started singing. Now she is also learning singing. So, thank you 😊 mam for giving her interest of singing back to her 🙂.

My experience of learning music from this video 1 I put too much pressure on vocal cord I got breathing problems, vocal problem, acid reflux problem 2 I am not recover properly but here I came and start again 😇 So my experience said that please do practice in correct way or half and hour daily for beginners,,

Not a Newbie in Music, but could never learn Classical Music, had a Speech problem since Childhood, that just got corrected by God's Grace... Let me be Your Guinea Now, Starting the Classes at 9:30 AM in the Morning on Thursday, 25th July 2024... Will see if i can improve my Singing Capacity and Capability with Your 12 Weekly Classes, will give it my Best shot, and then Try and report right here itself, at the end of October, 2024, if i could manage it well or how much i could manage it within that Time Frame... At some point in my life, I was quite indifferent to everything. Music is something that always helped me to keep in touch with my emotions and understand them. That's why I love music. All my life, I knew I couldn't sing cause I tried time and again. Played guitar for 8 years, still didn't really understood what singing meant for me. Then came a point, I was feeling low for a while. I started humming songs and then also gave singing a second chance. After that, i had kind of a 'mini enlightenment': I never could, still can not and cannot ever sing like somebody else (who is amazing) no matter how hard i try.🙈 i think it is about understanding the feeling and then expressing it in your own words (voice). I wish i looked for inspirations like these lessons earlier to give myself a direction.

*MY PRACTICE FOR YALL REFERENCE* if you are totally new to singing then practice week one to stabilize your swar only swar. If you already sang swar a bit and know how it is then you can start 1st week as you will know your singing voice you can mix week 1 and 2 and do swar Week 3 you sing as you did till now but start doing aakar also search Chandrani's vibrato video you will know what it is. SEE CHADRANI VIDEO ON HOW TO SING FROM STOMACH ITS IMPORTANT TOO My 1st week I did with metronome now I came till 102bpm I struggled in between a lot all ill say is Don't talk too much you will get tired . Do this atleast 1hr before practice. I don't even talk before practice Stop if your throat starts feeling uncomfortable even a bit for me it happens so after 30 to 40 mins of practice you will have your own limit too Sing a bit loud don't shout but loud I hope you got the difference . ITS OK IF YOU DONT PRACTICE A DAY MAKE SURE YOU GIVING IT TIME LATER I PRACTICE GOOD AT WEEKEND DAYS SO MANAGE YOUR TIME TABLE . IF YOU SPEAK LESS OR DONT SPEAK TOO MUCH BEFORE PRACTICE THAT IS GOOD OR ELESE YOU WILL GET TIRED EASILY WHILE PRACTICE. Day 10 : am not strong in aakar so I did more of aakar today
