Which made her videos and music from that album play even more on radio and tv. Brandy had a similar year but more mainstream with her tv show confusing until 2001, her Barbie and make up brand still selling til 2002, and her 2001 Full moon album is known as her best work by her peers, the fans and industry alike. Monica not so mainstream but her fans and her ATL roots loved her 2002-2003 album. So yes, they ran the mid 90s all the way until the early 2000s. Ashanti, Beyonce, and JLo came in and cleaned house during the 2000s aswell but the 90s teen trinity were still there.

Absolutely wild yall haven’t heard or at least heard of this song. It’s one of the biggest hits of the 90s and was released in 98. Monica and Brandy were both big teen stars at the time and the press pitted them against each other (a feud the press would recreate a few years later with Britney and Christina) and Brandy and Monica turned it into a mega hit song. Though there was some backstage tension with them after the song was released.
