Hey Sister Girl! Every Wednesday at noon or other day they chose they test the Tornado siren to make sure the system works. They only test it on clear days, this way it will not confuse people. LOL. I've only been here in Oklahoma for 4 years and learned a lot of stuff just by checking it out myself because of the type of training I had when I lived in another State. Anyway...keep up your informational video. God bless!

Hey love! Well thanks for explaining about the siren! ❤️ That explains why I thought I was hearing it weekly…but then I didn’t sometimes! 🤦🏾♀️
@bethzimmerman37602 ай бұрын
@@keeturned40 Yeah, if the weather is cloudy or iffy, they don't sound them to avoid scaring anyone thinking it could be a real warning. It's typically only on Wednesdays when it's very nice weather outside...and always straight up 12 Noon

That map is something else! I didn’t know a lot of the references either and had to look some up. Like “NIMBYs” stands for Not in My Back Yard…people who don’t want change and development in their neighborhood.

Used to love Weber's!! The little restaurants in "the hood" always have the best food. I used to go to this place called "Las Casuelas" over on North Lewis. It was such a hole in the wall, but that food . . . they just laid it on you -- authentic Mexican deliciousness. Think they're gone now. Honestly, I started tearing up before you did. THAT is why I love Tulsa. It's not perfect but even when people may have ill-informed opinions about who they think you are, they will take the shirt off their back to help you and I have never seen "Southern Hospitality" anywhere else like I've seen there. I grew up with that and I feel so fortunate. It is touching and so rare in our country right now -- definitely worth a tear or two of gratitude. A few months ago I saw a young black male whose car had broken down on the side of the road and, I kid you not, a big, burly ol' country boy, with his confederate flag-sporting pick up truck was working his tail OFF to help get this young man's car repaired -- just there on the roadside -- it's like our differences are for when everything's going good (like they're just for show), but when we see people really in need, everything falls away and the Oklahoma Standard, and the love behind it, comes through. Also, bonus info: we used to have flood sirens AND tornado sirens. The flood sirens happened at noon on Wednesdays, so while all the school kids were out at recess, the sirens would just be going off -- "This is only a test..." It was crazy and because of some mid 1980s flooding that had been really bad. Eventually, we just moved to tornado sirens, but THAT is a system that needs to work well, so we endure the testing because a few times each year, we need them to work, and being weather aware can save your life. Glad you're adjusting. Bye from your long-winded, T-town loving sista!

@@celinaquiros9381 Hey there! I tried looking up Las Casuelas. They must have closed down like you said. I’m bummed I would have headed there next! Yes!! Tulsa continues to surprise me so much! Glad to hear things like this as I’m dealing with uncertainty and all the different stories about whether it’s safe or not. I just found out that Tulsa floods (some areas, sometimes) this week. I thought I left that behind in Houston! 😭 FX no tornados or flooding any time soon!!

So are you a big " Harry and the Henderson " fan too? Every Wednesday at 12:00/noon, sirens test. Storms this week, too, so be alert. Oh, so I live where " rich black people live, and it has a museum (Gilcrease museum, can see from front yard), where you might get shot first?"" What? Lol. H.O.A. fees not bad either. You should have a "tear jerker alert" , funny stories lol

I am a believer that events manifest in our life from our subconscious’s. I recall you mentioning the number 4 and you had positive history with that number, which links back to your subconscious. This means you are in fact in the right place at the right time! You are Highly Favored every where you go, every soul you see, every thing you do Loveliness follows you.
