Im From Seattle, WA the OKC Thunder used to be the Seattle Super Sonics. Pretty much the new owner of the Sonics wanted the city to fund like 200M for a new arena and the city of seattle said no, so the new owner took the team to OKC, i believe it is his home town. The only thing Tulsa supposedly got was the Sonics D league team back in 2008 had nothing to do with the NBA team or the sell. I cant wait to move to Tulsa by the end of summer and hear this Tulsa Thunder for myself lol. Miss NBA games so much ! our city and the new owner of the team did feel like we got screwed out of a team. theres so much money up here now and if we couldnt afford NBA team how the hell did we afford a new stadium for an NHL team!?!

There's a big Tulsa powwow, usually in July at the Cox Business Center downtown. I have never been but powwows are about the only time you can see a lot of the traditional native dress. Different tribes have them all around the state but that one's the closest.

I’ve just ran into your videos, from someone who’s been living in Tulsa his entire life, I recommend walking the trail by the Arkansas River if you haven’t yet many historical sites. Tornado watching is definitely true here. But years ago Tulsa had multiple shopping malls, and an amusement park. But now most of that has been closed down for years to be changed into something else and/or been torn down . I remember the riverside trails having an actual skate park, and an on water amphitheater, but today said skate park is a parking lot, and the only remnants of the amphitheater is the curved stair like concrete area where the benches used to be

Congratulations on home ownership!!!! If you havent done this yet, please do this TODAY!!!! you probably have outdoor faucets. You need insulation covers for them so that they dont freeze!! You can get them at Home Depot or Lowes and they are about 10 bucks a piece. If you have a hose connected, disconnect of course and make sure that there is no water in it. Buy a big bag of NONclumping kitty litter to use if you get stuck on ice. get a carpet runner to keep in your car that is the width of your car in case you get stuck on the ice. putting it behind your tires will give you grip.............get a little spray jar from dollar tree to put rubbing alcohol in it to de ice your windshield............there is another thing to apply to the inside of your car windows to keep it from fogging but I forget it is. Keep a warm blanket and an extra set of gloves in your car in case you get stranded........I grew up in Michigan and was taught to never be without these things. except for the kitty litter, carpet runner and de-icer

Congrats on the house! I bought a hous just at the end of my TR year. Oh boy is it ever a process. I went into one of the tag agencies in Tulsa and within 20 minutes of walking through the door my title, plate, registration, and OK license was transferred over. I did it about 6 mos after moving here, Not all tag agencies can do it all, tho,. I had read they don't and was prepared to go into multiple locations but I randomly chose the one and they did it all. From CA even with an appointment at the moment they open the door you can end up waiting 6 hours. This was quite expedient here.

I came to YT after my purchase to see if anyone shared my opinion. And, you did. Additionally, instead of some pulp in my juice i had slurry & bits of seeds. Ended up straining before consumption. The juice was tasty. Most likely will not use often. Either, peel & place in hopper or use the old faithful Proctor Silex citrus juicer (control amount of pulp & no seeds).

I am also here with TR by way of Georgia! A pothole did try to take my truck out but he survived! Nothing is worse than the streets of Chicago though…… My year is coming up in March and I have not felt unsafe at any point. My neighbors are great and I too keep my front door open 😊 When I moved, I didn’t come with any preconceived notions, just an open mind and hopes that I was well received as a black girl just trying to make it……so far so good 👍🏾

Welcome! I lived in Tulsa for 12 years and downtown in general is fun. Several bars have been staples for years. Fassler Hall is always fun on weekends. Theres tons of free events at Guthrie Green and The Gathering Place. Lots of free parks. The Cain's Ballroom is a fun music venue. Thr Mayo is a fun rooftop bar. And Cherry St Jenks suburb has an aquarium. Theres outdoor festivals spring through fall. Theres a lot to do in Tulsa. Have fun checking it out! ✨️💖

I appreciate your honesty, North Tulsa has some of the most beautiful designer homes I’ve ever seen.(I’ve lived in ATL & Texas ) And it has its areas to avoid. Sensationalism proceeds it’s bad reputation.
