Civilian To Soldier - WEEK 14
Training in Phase 2 continues. This week looked at:
Fitness
Weapons
Ranges
The TAB (loaded march) was 4km carrying 30kg and then a further 2km carrying 20kg. The 2km was split down into 200m intervals 🤮
We also conducted the first night shoot of the course, learning how to effectively fire the weapon system at night using night vision equipment.

Worst thing to hear when you’re tabbing is ‘Prepare to double’

i found nothing wrong in hearing the words prepare to double march followed by double march, and then we all had to repeat it just so that the lads at the back knew what order had been given

he wouldn't be able to do that because he is an infantry instructor not an officer instructor, he is only able to do this because it's his job that he just films for us

If I pass my assement center on the 2nd of Nov I should be leaving to catterick on the 14th of Nov for the guardsman intake as am joining the grenadier guards and I am 17 does anyone have any tips or pointers as I am really nervous thank you.

What direction do you see yourself heading in? Going up the ranks as an officer within the infantry, get out? Support company roles back at battalion, SF? I’m just curious on how an officer plans their army career as majority of soldiers are 3/4 year soldiers signing off etc🤣

You don't need night vision when the enemy's weapon flashes every time it fires. And is that VISIBLE LIGHT coming out of those night vision cameras? The night vision in my eyes doesn't do that...

I'm sure there are videos on YT you can find. But to give a bit of info, an old fitness test used to be 44 push ups in 2 mins and 55 sit ups in 2 mins. Give that a go and see how you do.

BFA - Blank firing adapter, it is placed on the barrel of the rifle when firing blanks. As there is no round existing the barrel, the BFA allows the gasses from the blank round to cycle the action and chamber another round
