To everyone worried about battle PT. You will end up loving these when at regiment as you will do it Friday morning and then early finish. I learned to love log runs, stretcher races etc as I knew that in about 4 hours I’d be on the road home for the weekend.

I cannot believe that on the run the instructors allowed them to look at the ground most of the time, it seems to me from my Non Marine Military Service that this was an ideal opportunity to teach that this run was not simply an opportunity to build up stamina but also that in a real fire fight situation being alert to covering the surrounds and possible enemy presence/ambush was of greater benefit that looking at the road head one pace at a time which was NOT productive

El'amin mochichi just run, don’t bother with weight training. Run for distance up to 10k and get your time down. And occasionally test yourself on 2km best efforts. Try throwing in some body weight circuit type exercises, just to get yourself prepped for PT. If you’re going Pirbright then you won’t be doing too much PT anyway so don’t panic

Reading about how many people get rejected for medical reasons slightly stressing about a talk I had with the doctor years ago where they said I had mild anxiety and prescribed me pills for it along with therapy. I get that this was made 3 years ago, but hey: I'm starting basic in September, and I've been doing fitness, training, all that, but recently I've been getting what the doctors are describing as exercise induced Asthma. I've never had asthma, and it's only recently started happening and I'm really worried that it'll stop me from being able to start a career in the army

So if you wanna apply you have to do it online even if covid 19 wasn't a thing. Do you have to chose where you go or is it just one location if you wanna be a soilder not a salior or pilot.

@tgfrenchman3258 4 жыл бұрын
Different branches will have completely different locations. ie Army goes to Harrogate. Certain roles also will go to a different locations, e.g. Royal Marines will go to Lympstone, even though thats not where the majority of the navy trains. Is this what you're asking? in short, no you don't choose where you go, every role will have a location of where they are trained.

I am interested in joining the army (I am thinking about the Royal Military Police) I am currently studying my a level courses, and I wanted advice on something, I want to get a degree at some point, would you recommend going to university before applying, or I read somewhere (not sure if the source is credible) that when serving in the army, the army would pay for the degree course, what do you think is the best approach? It depends what role you are going for mate, for infantry roles you generally have to have decent eyesight. It is not required that you have 2020 vision, as you are allowed to have glasses.
