You have to fully understand the program to appreciate what he's doing...it can look cruel and the babies are in distress. But it's a tried and true program that works and saves lives..
@_kikizaman_2 жыл бұрын
It helps develop motor skills, and strength, while learning life saving skills. It eliminates their fear of water at a young age. Babies have a reflex to automatically hold their breath under water, so they don’t ingest water. I know it can be hard to watch, but think of it like this. Children scream and cry all the time in kindergarten (my moms a teacher I would know LOL), but we keep them in it because it’s beneficial. It’s the exact same thing:) I’m hoping to get my baby (when I have one I’m 19 lol) swimming lessons within their first month of life:)
@_kikizaman_2 жыл бұрын
Oh my bad! I commented thinking that you were saying that it’s cruel and that the babies are distressed. My bad, I now understand what you’re saying:) I agree, the people calling this child abuse makes me very upset. Just because a child doesn’t like something doesn’t mean you don’t make them do it. Just like eating vegetables. You don’t say “oh no you’re crying, me making you eat broccoli is abuse have your candy”. It’s the exact same thing! We force children to do stuff they don’t like when it’s beneficial, and that’s what real love is in my eyes!
@chelemae2 жыл бұрын
Respectfully, I completely disagree. There are much better ways to teach an infant to survive in the water other than out of fear and trauma. If you have children, do you seriously want a complete stranger dunking your child in water?

( sorry for my ignorance , my english is quite bad , but i want to protect the mother in the video , and i want to try to say as much as i want to say , so that you understand , your defense with your child , is making them weaker , instead of facing the fear , you are protecting your child by staying away from the things that scare them , you are making your child weaker , this mother way I am doing absolutely right , hope you read and understand what i mean , sorry , if what i just said made you misunderstood and made you sad , my sincere apologies ). + people blame the mother for being cruel , because the baby is very scared , only caring about the child 's fear without thinking about the bigger problems like that . Parents who let their children sleep separately to train their children to be independent from a young age, so is the issue of learning to swim from a young age, more important than that. Do you guarantee to be with your child, protect your child 24/7? When something unexpected happens , are you there to protect your children , I have not said how many children you have , not just one . Everything happens suddenly , without warning , this is so your child can save himself , prolong his life while waiting for you to come to the rescue . At the same time , train your children to be brave , they are afraid , so you do not let your children do what they are afraid of , you protect them instead of letting them face , that protection , makes them weak , afraid of more things in this life , will they grow up , can they live away from you ? Is there a do-everything network? Do you face things that scare your kids instead of hiding from them? In short, you let the children sleep separately to practice independence, then learning to swim is more important than that, helping them to protect themselves, prolonging their life while waiting for you to come to the rescue in case of an accident. . At the same time, train them to be brave, dare to face their fear, can't rely on others, you can't protect them for life, 24/25. This mother too , this mother hurt more than anyone . I know, it hurts her to see her child scared like this, but she still tries to endure the feeling, so that the child has courage, and can protect herself without her. It was next to the most dangerous time. People say she is cruel , but to me , she is the best mother , the most wonderful , knows how to love and protect her children properly , she will make a good person , knows how to live like her

Well, I can tell you as a mom of child who learned ISR his psychological state is just fine. They actually learn to love the water even more. Also as a mom of an 18 year old that almost drowned when he was 3, these lessons are priceless! My 7 year old son who did ISR a few years ago used his skills that he learned just 3 weeks into his lessons. We were in a canoe accident and he was completely calm and immediately went into his float position. Yes, he also had a life jacket but so did I and I almost drowned. ISR is worth every single penny. If much rather hear my child cry during lessons than to never hear his sweet cries or laughs again. Also not everyone who claims to be an ISR instructor is one. If you sign up for ISR lessons and are not directed to and through the ISR website(even if you are registering at somewhere like the Y) then you are not actually using a true ISR instructor.

If you've ever had a child almost drownthen you'd know how important these lessons are! My son used his life saving skills just 3 weeks into his lessons. We still had 3 weeks to go but he'd already learned enough that he was able to calmly float until I got to him. As far as the ISR instructors go they have an extensive and intensive 10 week training. Then they are required to video themselves teaching and submit those videos each year. They have many refresher courses as well.
