Unfortunately the paparazzi snapping pictures of her in a gurney actually ended up happening to her in real life years after this video. She was hospitalized in 2008 and the media coverage about that was crazy.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think they even removed the scene with her touching her head and realizing it was bleeding. I don’t remember that scene I just remember her sinking to the water. Which means if that’s true then they edited the hell out of her Music video

@@siumahin9049 I can be really simple. It's just a creative choice. U can deduce from all of the context that it's a story. The ending just makes it lighter. Regardless of the reason why the ending was chosen. Not all art has to be spoon fed. It's meant to also invoke thought. Using symbolism to make you think and also give new perspective.

One of the darkest music video! tears me up everytime I watch it. The most saddest part is that, she not only described how world was treating her at that period + predicted her future - when she was hospitalized in 2008 (after 4 years after releasing this music video) paparazzi's chasing were more chaotic unbelievable MORE! They were chasing ambulance by foot, cars, even helicopters..

The ambulance scene literally happened in real life four years later. She was being carried out and then placed in the back of the ambulance and they were surrounded by cameras and paparazzi with the cameras in the ambulance window trying to get pictures of her. It was fucking awful. We NOW think it was all set up by her dad to get the conservatorship started.

People thought at the time that it was about Justin and media made it seem like it was a reponse to "Cry Me a River", which is a impression people have till this day. But in reality, when Britney was asked what the song was about, she said it was about God. If you pay attention to the lyrics, its a "romanticized" story about someone who did something bad and is asking God for forgiveness and a second chance, hence she decides to portray reencarnation in the video. She simply wrote misleading lyrics that could be taken both ways, a relationship with a partner or her connection to God. Some of her songs, even the most recent ones, have secret meanings. Gimme More, for example is known as a sexy pop banger, but if you take the lyrics alone she's talking about the invasion of her privacy and the fact that people back then didnt care about it and kept asking media for more, and more, and more...

She literally says “I may have made it rain” in the lyrics and her sister said the song was about Justin plus I think it’s pretty obvious bc we have Steven Dorff dressed as Justin in the video. I think you are correct that the video itself was about reincarnation BUT that song was clearly wrote about her breakup. Her whole family has talked about that being one of the hardest times of her life so yeah, pretty sure this song is about JT.

1:27 yes, she wasn't trying to "pretend she wasn't britney", she was trying to cover most of her with what she had in the car, sunglasses (also it helps with the insane flashes) and the hat, because that way she can lower her head and the paparazzis doesn't get a clear picture of her entire face (since they literally just put their cameras on her face AND they were paid millions for a perfect picture of her) only her body...a lot of celebs did this during those times by the way, but if I need to filter some of them I can name all the ex disney cast, miley, selena, demi, jonas brothers, vanessa hudgens, lindsay lohan, etc etc...

I saw #1, #2, #3, and #4 was the last because they have no common sense whatsoever, like every video has a meaning described thru the scenes, you have to pause the video and explain every scene to them 🙄, I wish them the best but they just didn't work out for me
