Week 5, Day 4 - Thursday Devotional

”Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ.“

Devotional:
Oh, these verses are packed with the marks of a godly friendship!
Every day the world gives out huge doses of corruption, anger and selfishness. But because of Jesus and what He’s done for us, we are called to different, contrasting behaviour in our relationships with others. Behaviour that will make us stand out and be a light for Jesus in this dark world!
Build up with words.
Give grace unconditionally.
Be kind and gentle, even when we’ve not been shown kindness first.
Forgive. Not because someone deserves it, but because we have been forgiven by our generous, loving God.
Do you have a friendship that is strained, or someone in your life who is difficult to love?
Ask for God’s help, then determine to make the first move in using one of these “marks” of a friend that honours Christ.
