It's so nice to see the bits of organisation for the wedding. I got married twenty four years ago and my parents pretty much organised everything, we chose the wedding favours and clothes etc but the actual wedding 'stuff' was organised by others and we just had to show up (that turned out not great in some aspects) and I wish I had the where-with-all that I have now, I would have been far more involved and things would have been more what we wanted and less what was easy for everyone else. Huge congratulations! Thank you for bringing us along too :) your legal marriage is like how we did it too - we got legally married in the UK but literally showed up during our lunch break, brought our colleagues as witnesses (because we didn't want family thinking of that day as our wedding day lol), and we had no music, no rings, no vows... the lady in the registry office was like "this is so anti-climactic" hahaha! But it was done that way because for us our wedding was a huge celebration and ceremony in Portugal. We had a priest do a 'mock wedding' and then we had a huge party at a boutique hotel in Portugal so to all intents and purposes, our wedding in Portugal LOOKED legal, but actually the legal bit had already been done. Like you, it was about having the day we wanted and if that meant doing a few legal shenanigans beforehand, then so be it. Huge congrats again 🥳❤
