I'm on my 2nd Mirena IUD. LOVVVVE IT! I couldn't take BC, too many negative side affects. No side affects with Mirena, and the best thing of all is NO period for many years now! I do not recommend the copper one, it's been known to cause heavy long periods. I had a good friend who recommended the Mirena many years ago, and after I got it I had the most terrible cramps. And my friend warned me of the cramps and said if I could just get through it I will love it afterwards. There were times where I was debating on getting it out because of the cramps, so I would call my friend and she would give me a pep talk & it worked. I'm glad I stuck it out. Cramps lasted 1-2 months. Can't remember exactly because I'm on my second one and they last about 6 years and I have one year left on this one. I was sexually active when I first got my first IUD. We broke up and I have not been sexually active since. Then I got my second IUD simply because I don't like having periods. Another friend told me in the beginning before I got my first one to tell the doctor to not make the iud string so long that my partner could feel it during sexual intercourse but to also not make it too short to where I can't periodically put my finger up there and feel it to make sure it's in place - as they have been know to attach to the uterine wall. Like I said, I havent had any issues & absolutely love mine simply because I have no period. And it's a great option for those who have negative side effects from birth control pills or shots.

Congratulations Hannah!! I’m pregnant too I’m due Christmas Eve 🥰 I was the same way about birth control so I stopped taking it and I got pregnant 7 months after stopping the pill I was tracking my cycles naturally I don’t think I’m ever gonna go on the pill again it messed with my hormones too much. But so excited for you to become a aunt!!! It’s a really great and exciting thing 😊❤️
