since you really like rice and beans which is common in a lot of Latin foods, you should try supporting some of the Puerto Rican restaurants in the LES/alphabet city that have been struggling as a result of gentrification. There’s one called Casa Adela near Tompkins square park that’s really really good and they have similar dishes to the rice/beans/pork you showed. Would be a nice way to support the community/people that originally made up most of the neighborhood you moved into :)

The flowers are spray painted. I didn't know that was a thing till I saw a florist do it in front of me. Needed pink flowers he had white, he said hold on and spray painted them pink. All that to say is the water is pinkish bc of the spray paint that dripped into it
