Your videos have had the most influence on my painting. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be permission. I have realized that it doesn't have to be realistic, it doesn't have to be straight or proportional or the right color and I am enjoying painting so much more.

Cindy, I really enjoyed reading your comment so much - THANK YOU! It's sooooo helpful for me to hear this kind of feedback. It means so much that that's what you've gotten from this platform - permission! yes!!!!

I can relate to what you're saying about permission, however for me, it's like someone letting me into the art room. I didn't feel good enough to walk in, but Sandi just made me feel welcome with wide arms. Feels so good to join in. Thank you, Miss Sandi!

@@wilmamccoul Well goodness Wilma - I'm so happy to hear that you feel welcome - yes, come on in and do some art! It doesn't have to be good, it doesn't have to sell, it can be just for the sake of creating!

I have to agree, even though I think I've given myself permission to play with abstract things I haven't allowed myself to play with realism cuz I think people will think it's not good enough. I just posted a wonky ( oil pastel on black paper) portrait of a friend and my friends are loving it!! The trick is, the person I chose has to recognize it cuz I'm not revealing who I chose and if not that's cool too. Thanks Sandi for so much!!

Your new easel is wonderful! Funny how new supplies get our artist motor revived up and feels so good down to out toes! I’m so happy being an artist! You have helped me so much getting through this pandemic and the bad stuff that happened in my life this year. I’m so happy I found your channel. My only regret is I didn’t find it sooner. Thank goodness for wonderful people and artist like you. Fran

Fun fact - owls regurgitate the remains of what they have eaten. They can't digest the bones, hair, etc. so it comes back up almost like a hairball (like cats) and it is called an owl "pellet." At our local wildlife centre they collect them and dry them out so people can dissect them. We found a mouse skull in one and a bird skull in another. Very cool!

Absolutely LOVED this video, I feel like you are one of my good friends taking me along with you and because we recently moved to the country in Kansas (30 minutes from anything), I need ART FRIENDS!!!! Sandi Hester When you were sitting behind the box I was going, „open it, open it“ 😂. Love your paintings, love your videos, love your whole thing with the dog and the hubby and the home that you all obviously so enjoy. I am normally very coy about leaving comments but I just thought about how much effort and time you put into these and how soul-destroying it must be if nobody gives you feedback. BTW, I am English but live in Germany and follow a bunch of UK artists - one of whom recently commented on your channel saying how cool and refreshing it was (or words to that effect). Can‘t remember who it was but will let you know if I remember. XXX

So THANK YOU for taking your time to encourage me - it really has been so timely!
