WEEK OF BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY

I filmed the days after my breast reduction to help other women who are going through this journey or just curious about what it's like to go through a breast reduction. I'll be filming a month update video soon that will include more info on how I got approved and some things I did to prepare for surgery. Below is a FAQ.
🔹How old are you?
37
-What size where you before?
38DDD or 38EE
-What size are you now?
A full C or small D.
-What size do you wear in clothes.
Before I was a 12/14 and size L in shirts. Now I’m a 12 and size M in shirts
-How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
I’m 5’4” and weigh 168
-Did you need help afterwards?
Yes I needed assistance for at least 2-3 days.
-Where you in a lot of pain?
No I experienced more soreness than pain.
-Did you lose any sensations?
No everything felt fine.
-Was it uncomfortable to sleep?
No because I was already a back sleeper.
-When did you start driving?
I was up and driving after 5 days. Please consult your doc though.
-Did you experience any other symptoms?
I ran a low grade fever the day afterwards but medicine resolved that. I also had chills the first day. Around day four my varicose veins become horribly inflamed. This is due to immobility but when away after a day or two. I also had a sore throat a few days.
-What surprised you the most afterwards?
I was very hungry and didn’t prepare enough food. I was also surprised at how swollen I was afterwards.
-Who was your plastic surgeon?
Dr. Travis Holocombe
-How did you find your surgeon?
He was recommended by a breast specialist.
-Did you insurance cover your reduction?
Yes. I have Cigna insurance and they covered the surgery. I previously had UnitedHealthCare and purposely switched.
-How did you get your insurance to cover your reduction?
I spent two years documenting my medical issues. I will have a separate video on this. Most insurance companies just need 6 months of documentation.
-What supplies did you purchase after your surgery?
I bought a number of things including gauze, pads, bras, pjs, a robe, oils, etc. A video is coming on this.
-Do you have any children? Are you having any more?
I have a five year old but I do not plan on having any more children.
-Any words of advice?
Ask your obgyn for referrals to a plastic surgeon. Take your time to interview him/her. I had a great surgeon with 30+ years of experience. Make sure you have assistance the first few days. Don’t bother buying any bras until a few days after surgery. Use the ace bandages and have help to wrap yourself back in. Don’t be surprised at how you may feel afterwards. I experienced a mix of emotions including depression the week afterwards. Be patient. My breasts looked lumpy the first few days and are still forming their shape actually.

Hi, I am in Tempe,AZ. I am 51 years old and had my reduction Aug 5, 2019. No pain just discomfort. Took a shower day after surgery w/o complication. Right now to me they really don't look shaped but i know it takes time. Been taking daily walks early morning for about 30 mins. So far so good.

First, thank you for this REAL and transparent video of your experience with this surgery. I am one week away from my surgery. I absolutely loved your video! I have been struggling to get my breast reduction for 5 years.... insurance is ALWAYS the problem. I also learned the state that I live in had exclusions for covering breast reduction surgeries, so as you can imagine that stopped the entire process. Thankfully we live in a new state now and have new and better insurance so I am praying it all comes together in the end! This is the first of your videos I have seen and I must say, your positive attitude is wonderful! I am so thankful for all the information you provided and cannot wait to finally not wear a bra! You don't have to feel depressed-it will be better in a week when things have kept healing. I am wearing Lululemon bras-they are fitting well and you feel supported without digging in. And hanging out in the house gets on one's nerves!!!

Haha. Yes it is great to not have to wear a bra. I had my reduction four days ago. I went from D-Cup to B-Cup. Good that you can eat because I have trouble eating.-and it did not go well with the drugs. I am so happy for you.

Love this video!! So contemplating a reduction! No back issues here, just over the DD/E boobs 🙅🏽‍♀️🙅🏽‍♀️ now I usually workout and eat pretty decent and I understand breast are fat, but I feel if I lose some of these boobs you could see my hard work at the gym! I refrain myself from certain top/shirts because I always need a special bra of extra shirt under 🙄🙄🙄

Yessss sameeee ! We living the same life 😂 I been working on my weight as well and my chest just makes me look bigger than I actually am. I don’t feel comfortable in certain clothes bc of my chest, can’t wear crop tops or anything of that matter because it’ll literally be a bra on me 😂 I have been doing research on this surgery for over 2 years now, but I see this comment is 4 years old so if you have gotten the surgery in the time that has passed please lmk how it went. 🫶🏼

New subscriber here! I need this surgery but I’m so scared. Like if I don’t have this surgery I will have permanent damage to my back and neck. But I have had serval black out panic attacks about it. I’m afraid of waking up in agony from it. Like feeling the pain as soon as I wake up or something.

Yes I put my hair in two strand twists. I was down for a good three days...took off a week from work but was up and driving within 5 days.

I can't believe you are able to do anything but lay in bed so soon after surgery. Jabby is in for a surprise he won't have them to knead on. My two year old is still breast feeding😌, her attachment to the girls runs deep so I know I'll be dealing with her being touchy feely for awhile after she stops nursing.
