Great work Vicki, I've 2 sons, both married, heads permanently in fridge when teenagers. 32 litres milk weekly. Eldest 6'8". I made a pile burgers today and froze ready for bbq. Breadcrumbs and fried onion and small bits odd cheese. Jamie Oliver's brown bread, 1 mug SR flour, 1 mug wholemeal, bicarb, teasp, 1 mug buttermilk, loosish mixture, use little flour to form round shape, put cross on top and put on tray.. 200 deg 40 mins. Fill boys up! Loved everything. Jx

Vicki, love love love your cooking, your meals are presented so beautifully, here in the good old Us we tend to have less at dinner, maybe a protein, veg and starch, I always serve w some type of bread or biscuit and maybe a small salad. You serve like a fancy restaurant might.....makes me want to fancy things up a bit too. I think adding a garnish and pretty serving dishes make any meal better. Your a inspiration to me. I know, like me your a thrifty shopper too, so it can be done on a budget. When this virus stuff hopefully clears away and our groceries are more available I’m going to try several of your today’s recipes. Bless you, keep safe and thanks again for brightening my day.

I'm new to your channel over the last few weeks I've become obsessed with watching your food and shopping videos. I'm a mum of 4 but my oldest boy now lives in his own place but I have 2 hungry 13 and 15 year old boys and a 10 year old girl at home. Where do I even start.. I need help. We are stuck in a rut of the same meals week in and week out so much food s being waisted and truthfully we have been eating a lot of takeaways. I got a burger and chips delivered and I just looked at it and felt sick because I'd eaten so many lately I ended up binning it. I watch your videos to feel inspired but I don't know where to start. I struggle with energy due to health problems I often need blood transfusions and iron infusions I think that plays a huge part in my kitchen activities by the time the end of the day comes I reach for convenience where as if I was more prepared I could make something earlier in the day. Do you ever struggle for motivation? How do you get past it and carry on? Sorry for the long story comment x

Don't be sorry, I love to hear from people! Ok to start with keep it simple. Pick one dish (nothing too fancy) and just aim to make one dish from scratch that week. You can build up more as the weeks go on but you will be more motivated if you have one successful dinner, rather than trying loads of new things and struggling. A few simple ideas are pitta bread pizzas, just tomato puree on a pitta bread topped with cheese and your favourite toppings and put in the oven for 10 minutes or so. The kids can help with this one! I made a creamy curry using chicken breast, condensed chicken soup and curry powder, so simple but my boys love it! Also chilli is a good choice, you can even buy the packet mixes to make it easier. If you make a big pan you can do so much with it. We have it with rice, on wedges topped with cheese and oven baked, scoop out Cooked jacket potatoes and mix with the chilli then put it back in the skins, top with cheese and bake. Just start small and it will get easier. Hope this helps 💗

Hey Vikkie, You know I’m not much of a confident cook & I’m learning all the time, but I do have a tip regarding the use of spaghetti; if you’re able to get it, try & buy linguini, it’s in the same section as spaghetti & the same long packet (you can get the big linguine nests which are fine but I’m mostly referring to the long linguini! Have a nosey on the Tesco app just for reference if you don’t know what I’m talking about as I’m rubbish at explaining, but I’m sure you do ! I’m sure lidl sell it) - I now use it instead of spaghetti because the sauce (spaghetti bolognese etc) sticks to linguine much more, it’s so nice 🤤❤️ I know times are different right now, so more for future reference 🥰 Always wanted to like carrot cake but not for me, my mum & dad love it though! I’m a brownie & plain choc or vanilla sponge girl..& I’m a sucker for buttercream.. just me? 😂 Yummy food as always! Cooked a huge chilli last night, so much so I had to take some out of the slow cooker.. oops LOL! Oh well, plenty for the freezer! Xx

Hi, my favourite spices are garlic powder or granules, onion powder or granules, smoked paprika, chilli powder, & a mixed herb/Italian seasoning. These are what I use in most things, ground coriander and ground cumin are good additions too. The grill I have is called the tefal select grill, but you can get some similar on Amazon 💙

It was just some leftover chilli that I had in the freezer and some chicken thigh that I cooked and sliced. I put both on top of tortilla chips and topped with cheese. The boys loved it!

I got mine from lidl but pretty sure aldi do them too and yes, they were in a jar. With the Greek yogurt, take the pan off the heat when you add it and don't boil the sauce and you should be ok. I haven't tried it but others have and it's usually to much heat that causes curdling 💗
