Your priorities are what you feel is best for your family. Other things are icing on the cake. Finish one project, hang out in the water while thinking what is best to do next. There will be changes...many changes, because we cannot control the weather. You are doing great. You and your husband are overwhelmed with so much going on. Do not get stressed when someone mention something and make you feel you should do it. You have the cash. Take your time and be thankful. 😊

It is going to be a hot one this year. I think your channel will grow steady because so many are also interested in homesteading. The well share is a blessing.

It sounds like you are making some important and wise decisions. The shelter cover over the trailer will be a game changer. Electricity for now a great idea. Stay in your budget. What a great water source too. Sounds like a great beginning for a wonderful family adventure.

Used solar panels can be inexpensive and reliable. Up near Show Low you can get tested 300w panels for 35 or 40 each.

Hello! Nancy from Sacramento saying hello. Just discovered you a month or so ago and subscribed. I'm 68 but living off grid as much as I can via woodstove, no use of HVAC at all, no gas cooking, I'm cooking outside for the past year and a half. Trying to learn off grid skills for about two years now. Gardening seriously and put in quite a few different fruit trees so I'm looking forward very much to following you and watching you grow, your videos are fun and serious. May God bless you, but my one question is are there any potential problems of illegals coming near you. I sure hope not many prayers stay safe.
@copperdeserthomestead7 ай бұрын
Good luck and God bless on your adventure. Haven’t heard any reports of illegal crossings over here 🌵

I love the people on here having seizures about illegals when its young white males perpetrating all the most horrifying violent crimes in the US. Look at the statistics. Illegal immigrants have the lowest crime rate in the US of all the demographics.

When my well pump went out I had to "well-share" for a couple weeks until I got the pump replaced. I've never used the word "homestead" in reference to my property. It's just eighty acres off-grid with a house on it. I'm developing two or three acres into a landscaped area including gardens.

We also live in AZ, and excited to watch your journey! Just a heads up about your shelter- the wind here is absolutely outrageous. It will probably blow the shelter away, unless you concrete or weight them down. ❤

New to your channel. I’ve not had a chance to enjoy a journey like you are embarking on. But, I would make one comment…”you do you”, it’s your family’s interests to care for and not our place to say go solar or not. The beauty of our country is having opportunities and you have an awesome opportunity to build a homestead. I’m envious, and I am eagerly anticipating what your journey will have in store. Your friend from Virginia.

Noted a few mesquite trees. I picked a few to water and now have wind breaks, beans to harvest for flour, and trimmings for firewood/BBQ. Some of my neighbors removed all the mesquite and now wish they saved them like I did. Doest take much water

One thing at a time :) ... and no apologies needed for your choices!!! And there are "arguments" to be made for "grid" power vs solar, i.e. where do solar panels and the batteries go to die for example. Shared well!!! For my small home in rural NW Montana (and my RV/Jeep), I chose to be in the EcoFlow system: lithium power stations, their AC units, refrig/freezer ... and just recently their alternator charger which is a game changer for me in my transportable power solution ... and might be something that would help you but it has to work in tandem with at least one EcoFlow device. Lots of reviews of this just released item but my personal favorite is Hobotech. Best, best wishes as you navigate these first day-week-months!

We live off-grid in the desert and I'm jealous of your stream. Should make drilling a well much easier and cheaper. I agree with your decision to tap the power until you get your solar setup, but please don't put that off. Not having an electricity bill every month is great.

I dont agree wen i got on my landnin az aps would not bring power from pole virtually on property with out a permit. It was very teisted and backwards without a structure they would not bring . U could get starter panels renegy. 2-4 100ah hour batteries a string inverter (camper prob already has) and you would have enough power for the basics ! Cost 700 two batteries 4 panels and controller 900. U can add panels and batteries as you go along and no compromise. That fridge you have prob uses so much power. I disconnected mine cuz it ate up power n propane. Got a freezer plugged into the solar power and converted it to a fridge.
