Merry Christmas to you too, and I hope you have a very warm one! Emotionally anyway. I've been slack on my reflection and mindfulness lately, and it's been causing issues between me and my friends-- this coming year I'm going to focus on being good to myself and good to others. I loved Master Gu's 4 tips for balance, because in true Taoist fashion, they're so simple-- he basically just said to sleep good, eat right, exercise and be nice to others. But I'm beginning to feel like that's the true heart of Taoism; doing what you know is right, taking the simple and good path to wellness. This is a bit of a word salad now, but how interested are you in learning and investing in Taoism to better yourself? I hope you're able to improve your life a lot through this! Warm wishes and happy holidays. PS, my girlfriend in Brighton says the weather's not much to write home about, so you're probably not missing much.

Many blessings to you George, Master Gu, and to everyone else that is dedicating themselves to learning something new about the world. Whether that is a new language, a new martial art, or simply a new perspective. A lot of growth can occur in just 1 week but most don't allow themselves to see it within themselves. May you all find what you are looking for in the end but may you also find some extraordinary things in your journey 🙏❤

As a long term Tai Chi/Kung Fu practitioner currently stuggling with a debilitating medical condition (also chronic and long term), I can not tell you how happy it makes me to watch this. At least for now it helps me reminisce/reminds of times with my Buddhist/Taoist masters. Your filming/editing skills are great, vids are high quality, and seeing real teaching in a family atmosphere frees up the sadness in my heart. May the heavens bless you for what you are doing.

Very funny stick analogy. The low stances are killer (for me I found and often still find this in qi-gong). Making it look graceful actually takes incredible strength too. Such a nice tranquil atmosphere to work in too, and your tai chi family are great.

The jacket metaphor is used quite often in judo. It's been said of Masters like Mifune that trying to fight them is like fighting an empty jacket. There's no tension and their movements are very fluid. I'm not surprised to see similar ideas here. Although the disciplines are different, the way the mind and body work are the same. Thanks again for your videos.

The way. If you try to explain it, you will only become confused. So be natural and accepting and just be. And with that philosophy I have found that it helps in further cultivating my energy through Qigong and Tai Chi and combining with the One Source. All points in time and space are one. It is good to be calm. Free your mind in calmness, combine your energy with openness, conform to things naturally and have no bias therein. Then the world will be orderly. -Chuang Tzu. I too have subbed. Your videos seem to be interesting. Thank you for your sincerity.

OMG, when Master Gu said the body could be as relaxed as the coat, this is exactly what I need to know. Fabulous. I'm on a mission now, it's time to remove my inherent fears and just BE! Oh heck, I hope I can do it, it would change my life radically, I know. I only found you today George, but I'll keep watching to catch up and hopefully a little Taoism will seep into me! 😄💞🌲💞

Stretching. You could try stretching each limb for 40 seconds in 4 sets and do this 3x a day. It worked for me when I was in my 20’s. Avoid bouncing your stretching! Also, you do need to push it sometimes.

Bonjour, i have to say I’m totally in love with your channel. I discovered it about two weeks ago and it’s very interesting. I’m a wing Chun practitioner and I was ditching for Taoist philosophie and explanation since a lot of it is in Wing Chun (the yin and yan for exemple is the most important thing and everything is in circle). And I’ve found your channel. What a chance you have. It’s very powerful. And I totally recognize myself in you for the stress part of yourself. I’m trying to work hard on it and you help me. You made me laugh with the part of the stretching with the stick in your ass... i totally know what you mean. I work on it too... but from other videos that I’be Seen you have improve yourself! Your Tai Chi family is awesome. Your Master is always smiling and peaceful. I love his teaching and how he applies modern things to Tai Chi (the jacket thing is well explained). Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us. Please carry on. One day (I promised myself) I’ll make a trip to China. Have fun beautiful person! From France.

Tai Chi is a great martial art for health and vitality but that's it hundreds of years ago it was once considered a great martial art for defense as well as offense but it has changed I wouldn't recommend in training in Tai Chi if you want to learn how to protect yourself there are plenty of MMA schools that popped up all over the place in recent years I would say go there.. because their training is more Geared toward fighting ....
